This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

We have laws. They aren't being enforced. IT's made worse when a POTUS signs an EO saying laws won't be enforced, encouraging even more people to come here illegally.

I look at immigration the same way I look at recreation drug use. if you don’t give people a legal option they are going to do it anyway and the cost to enforce it is much too high. Both financially and on the soul of our country.

“Opinion: Why time is not on Russia’s side

Opinion by Alexander J. Motyl, opinion contributor

Almost overnight, pundits and analysts have begun singing a very different tune. Until recently, Ukraine was clearly winning and Russia was clearly losing. Then, suddenly, after Ukraine admitted in November that its counteroffensive had failed, it became clear to all that Ukraine couldn’t win and Russia couldn’t lose.“

"The chief of staff of the French armies Pierre Schill affirms in his column in the newspaper "Le Monde" that the French army "stands ready. Whatever developments in the international situation, the French can be convinced of this: their soldiers will respond."France can commit 20,000 men in 30 days, and the capacity to command up to 60,000 men, French and allies."

"But those repairs often take months, resulting in an artificial tank-scarcity in front-line units. When German T.V. network NTV visited a Leopard 2A6 platoon back in January, just one of the unit’s four tanks was combat-ready.

There are shortages of spares on the front line and at the repair centers. This should come as no surprise to close observers of Germany’s long military decline since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.

German firms Rheinmetall and Krauss-Maffei Wegmann, which manufacture most of the world’s Leopard 2s as well as most of the spare parts for the tanks, consistently have failed to produce enough spares. The parts shortage is why it has taken Rheinmetall an embarrassing nine months to overhaul the first two of the 14 extra Leopard 2s that the Dutch-German consortium promised to Ukraine."

Why would the Biden Administration ask Ukraine to stop attacking oil refineries? That would be the dumbest thing I have read about this war.
Because oil is an international commodity, and Russia produces like 15% of the world supply.

Disrupt/end Russian production = gas price spikes

Gas spikes = bad for Biden's reelection.

American's LOVE driving guzzlers that support dictators in Saudi, Russia, Venezuela, Iran, and Syria, and are hypersensitive to price increases.

Two months before the '22 election, Saudi announced a big production cutback that was credited with helping the GOP take the House. I look for similar announcement and price spikes this fall from the Saudis and Russians to help get their client Trump back in the WH.

Ukraine's attacks have cut Russian production by 600,000-900,000 barrels a day, which has caused a price increase of 2-3%.

I understand all of that. But quickest way to end the war is to bankrupt Russia
