This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

Continues to boggle the mind that Russia is sustaining Iraq war level casualties every 3/4 days.

Shows Putin's dedication to his mission for a small strip of land and willingness to burn his country's future to the ground. Guess this will be his legacy when it is all done. We (the collective West) just need to ensure that it happens.

Imagine that, the OG Russian propagandist and apologist refuses to acknowledge it. Sheesh.

Why can’t you accept that democracies reflect genuine public opinion?

Is NYC’s mayor Adams spreading ‘Russian propaganda’ when he steps up to the podium and mentions problems arising from absorbing waves of immigrants?

The issues are real, and trying to pretend it’s just ‘Russian propaganda’ and not genuine public expression against policies that created the present is dumb.

Ever stop and ask yourself how its ’hybrid war’ for Russia to allow a few dozen migrants into Finland, but if you point out the same thing happening on a much grander scale to this country it’s suddenly a blessing?

Coerce Ukraine to give Russia stolen territory and then wait for 4-5 years while Russia builds up its military for the final push to Kyiv?
I just don't think that Ukraine can win without full US support.

And against a country bordering it. Russia had every possible advantage going into the war, not the least of which were logistics and the ability operate air assets out its own adjacent country. Their ability to project power anywhere else in the world against an enemy with a pulse is laughable.

trump must have been in charge of infrastructure week in Russia too:)

"In St. Petersburg, the authorities arranged water treatments for city residents. Anyone can take a walk under this newfangled fountain. It’s good that the boiling water didn’t burst, otherwise casualties would not have been avoided. For the price of just one rocket, dozens of which are launched across the territory #Украины once a week, it would be possible to repair the pipes along this entire avenue."

"Italy is preparing to include “a batch” of British-made Storm Shadow cruise missiles in the next round of military aid it supplies to Kyiv, according to reports in the Italian media.

Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto will present the plan to the Italian parliament by the end of the month, Il Fatto Quotidiano reported based on sources.

The move will make Italy the fourth Nato ally to supply long-range missiles to Ukraine, after the UK, France and the US, which recently started supplying its ATACM missiles.

The shipment is likely to further isolate chancellor Olaf Scholz, who has been refusing to equip Kyiv with German-made Taurus missiles despite calls from inside his coalition to do so.

Unlike other western powers, Rome is still insisting that weapons it supplies are only used inside the borders of Ukraine."

I suppose the one side benefit Putin sees in developing better ties with NK is that he can increase friction between NK and SK. SK has sold some weaponry to Ukraine, and donated more, but they are also rumored to have supplied a lot of 155 mm artillery shells to Ukraine via secret transfers. They have a lot of them, and they can make a lot of them. It is wise of them to keep some transfers a secret in order to keep NK in the dark over their stockpile.
Keeping SK anxious about the intentions of NK helps Russia keep some armaments off the market for Ukraine.

Ukraine let Russia take Novooleksandrivka. They figured more Russians would choke to death trying to pronounce it than in the fighting.

Let’s never forget that Biden urged Zelensky to flee Ukraine on the second day of the war. That would have collapsed Ukrainian resolve and guaranteed a Russian victory.
I had never heard that.

Here's what I found when I googled. Apparently there were discussions about relocating Zelensky from Kiev to Lviv (also in Ukraine) if it looked advisable. Lviv is where the US moved its embassy staff shortly before the invasion. So that makes sense.

Looks like @SA_Hawk got suckered in by the Trump/X disinformation machine (again)

I guess this could be a thread..
Interesting story on NPR yesterday about tunnel warfare. I’m sure both sides are using underground hideouts and tunnels in an attempt to escape the technology of the other side.
