This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

When this ends, we'll need a Marshall Plan to send over thousands of construction crews to rebuild roads, bridges and buildings.

Using the money taken from Russian and its oligarchs. Sell the yachts; don't care if we get $0.10 on the dollar, but sell them to legitimate businessmen with zero ties to Russian money or mafia money.
Assume you are rich enough to own a yacht. Would you purchase the former yacht of a Russian oligarch? I would imagine you would have to constantly worry about being killed.

Not in that article, but another states there are "scopes able of digital signal filtration which ensure protection of the eye of a sniper against the laser beams targeting it".

Thank you!

Let’s assume there’s some sort of compromise that allows Putin to save face and preserves Ukraine as a truly independent nation.

How quickly does Russia get to rejoin the world? I’m thinking they are a pariah state for some time. At least as long as Putin is alive.

Thoughts?
They are shunned for a very long time. There’s no guarantee that whoever follows Putin is any better. Russia is a very unhealthy society. Their people are sheep. It will take decades to change.

I do not believe that renewables add up to 20 % do you have a link to that?

You can look up the transitioning on your energy provider's website.

Do you not pay any attention at all to your own energy bills, etc?

So basically were everyone was at before Russia invaded.
If this ends up being the case, Russia and Ukraine sign a peace treaty formalizing Ukraine as a neutral, the losers of the war are Russia and Ukraine, and the winner is the ramped up MIC.

A US House member on CNN claims that the deadly S300 system is now in Ukraine. This will allow higher targets to be hit. And of course, ironically, it is made by Russia.

WIKI - The S-300 (NATO reporting name SA-10 Grumble) is a series of initially Soviet and later Russian long range surface-to-air missile systems produced by NPO Almaz, based on the initial S-300P version. The S-300 system was developed to defend against aircraft and cruise missiles for the Soviet Air Defence Forces. Subsequent variations were developed to intercept ballistic missiles. The S-300 system was first deployed by the Soviet Union in 1979, designed for the air defence of large industrial and administrative facilities, military bases and control of airspace against enemy strike aircraft. The system is fully automated, though manual observation and operation are also possible.[3][5] Components may be near the central command post, or as distant as 40 km. Each radar provides target designation for the central command post. The command post compares the data received from the targeting radars up to 80 km apart, filtering false targets. The central command post features both active and passive target detection modes.[6][7]

BTW, you'll be lucky to get that .10 on the dollar, because the oligarchs will still have some substantial resources, will likely want them back, and will likely "know some people" who might dissuade potential buyers.
Not if sanctions remain on them in every Western country, and if they set foot anywhere, they get arrested.

Let my ladies fly their B-2's. Enough already. Missouri is boring as shit. Come on, let's do this!
Hot date for a Mr. Vladimir Putin. Party of one.

Just to add, they don't have to be in Russian or even Ukrainian airspace. They can launch stand off ammo from Poland. Just destroy the first eastern city in Russia, the stooge fake ass town of Belgorod. Message will be sent.

I would strongly disagree with their ability to hit cruise missiles. Cruise missiles are much smaller as a target and do not fly in a ballistic manner. The chance of any SA variant hitting a cruise missile is near nil. And the S-300 and it's successor the S-400 are vastly _overrated_. We, the US, have tactics to jam both but they are ultra secret for obvious reasons.

I've said this, and it sounds cruel, and it should be, but Russia will only learn when Russian civilians die. Like, in Moscow, or any other big city for example. The Chechens did this to Russia and they were shit scared. Moscow theater, Beslan, Moscow Metro.

But doesn’t Putin just turn that to his advantage? They’re brainwashed and fed propaganda. Seems to me he’d love to have an attack on the homeland to show why Russia needs to pull together behind him.

Yeah Lavrov...tell me how it worked out when you Russkies negotiated with “Nazis” 80 years ago?
Surely there are Russians who have asked if they really ARE Nazis why are you talking about negotiating with them at all?
So many Russians have friends or family in Ukraine they have to know that the Ukrainians wouldn’t ever let a Nazi near the reins of power.

Yeah, the vids with the slow missile whining low across the sky are cruise missiles.
These SAMs do have much more range than MANPADS. Only so much propellant can go into a missile that you can hoist on your shoulder. So they these can reach out over 2 miles (or over 2 miles up).

Nope. Bloodshed leads to mayhem. Every single time. He's bombing the shit out of Ukraine and killing innocent people anyways.

I am aware of both the SA systems and S-300's and S-400's. India fields them. They (India) are replacing all the SA systems because they are how you say crap. More propellant doesn't mean better engagement. Many of the SA systems were conceived in the 1950's and fielded in the 1960's.

This is essentially the business of my best friend, who is a very senior economist/ex-cia and has done this all over the crappiest spots in the world for the last 25 years. He was getting ready to retire, but noted the other day that there will simply be too much money to be made under US govt contracts not to keep working.

Abramovitch just transferred (yeah right) ownership of one of his firms - “NORMA” -to a fellow Russian who is not sanctioned.
Abramovitch is now in Israel. I wonder how much money he’s paying them.

Just inferring longer reach.

When TWA-800 went down I recall the dad of my girlfriend at the time, an EWO/Navigator in B-52s in Vietnam, said it wouldn’t have been a MANPAD. Since the explosion happened at over 13k feet he reckoned it was out of reach. There are conspiracy theories that suspect a USN SAM. Seems like an absurd number of people to keep quiet though.
