This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

This is super late, but such a fun story.

The electric car chargers along one of the most important freeways in Russia are all down Monday after the Ukrainian company tasked with building the main components in the chargers used backdoor access to hack them, shut them down, and program anti-Putin/pro-Ukrainian messages to scroll past on their screens.

Russians outsource most "tech" stuff. Because they don't have the appropriate human infrastructure for it. I can post a thread on that, but it boils down to any big tech industry cannot be effectively run by state mafia - only the "simple" stuff is run by the main oligarchs.

Also: hilarious!!!

So basically where everyone was at before Russia invaded.

I'd actually prefer more politicians dressing in casual attire, as opposed to the full on business suits all the time.

Except Ted Cruz's oversized gut in a tee-shirt. No one wants to see that.... and I'm sure there are more examples. Seeing Nancy Pelosi in a crop-top might help me with dieting for a few days...

Let’s assume there’s some sort of compromise that allows Putin to save face and preserves Ukraine as a truly independent nation.

How quickly does Russia get to rejoin the world? I’m thinking they are a pariah state for some time. At least as long as Putin is alive.

Thoughts?

I think it will be mutual. We can’t forgive war crimes and he can’t let his people find out the truth.

This is a cool article on how the CIA helped train the Ukrainians on advanced battle field sniper tactics.

When this ends, we'll need a Marshall Plan to send over thousands of construction crews to rebuild roads, bridges and buildings.

Using the money taken from Russian and its oligarchs. Sell the yachts; don't care if we get $0.10 on the dollar, but sell them to legitimate businessmen with zero ties to Russian money or mafia money.

I didn't see how they countered the Russian laser defense-but interesting read.

Not in that article, but another states there are "scopes able of digital signal filtration which ensure protection of the eye of a sniper against the laser beams targeting it".

This is essentially the business of my best friend, who is a very senior economist/ex-cia and has done this all over the crappiest spots in the world for the last 25 years. He was getting ready to retire, but noted the other day that there will simply be too much money to be made under US govt contracts not to keep working.

BTW, you'll be lucky to get that .10 on the dollar, because the oligarchs will still have some substantial resources, will likely want them back, and will likely "know some people" who might dissuade potential buyers.
