This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

I know it would only invite even more retaliation but I wish Ukraine could lob a few missiles into Moscow. I just want Russian civilians to die too.
(They are nearly within range but I imagine the Russian missile defense would be hard to get through.)

Seems you would fare much worse without your gun than with it. You lefty that are just dieing to use americas military against its people are the real danger to America. Guess who is in the military? They will not do it.
What kind of nonsense word salad is this? If I can translate Idiot to English, are you trying to say that the left wants to use the US military against our own citizens? Are you really so far gone that you believe this? I mean, this is full on @ottumwan in tx /Alex Jones crazy. Take this crap to a different thread or just sleep it off, man.

If the Russian missile defense is anything like its offense, it seems like they'd just spray a bunch of 30 year old hardware into the sky. I wouldn't be too worried about them stopping any incoming attacks.

Interesting read here -- US telling Russia, India, etc. that there will be economic retaliation if they don't comply with sanctions against Russian airlines:

In response to a question about China’s compliance with the controls thus far, a senior Commerce Department official said Thursday that “the U.S. government has clearly communicated—from President Biden to President Xi down—that should China choose to provide material or other support to Russia there will be consequences.” The official added that the agency and U.S. allies and partners continue to monitor transactions between Russian and Chinese entities for compliance with export controls.

A lawyer familiar with the controls said the U.S. decision to name the foreign destinations of the Russian airlines—including China—is a warning to those countries. The person said even helping to fuel Russian aircraft would violate the export restrictions.

The export controls, initiated in tranches beginning in February, target Russia’s defense, aerospace and maritime industries in response to the invasion of Ukraine. Coordinated with allies in Europe, Japan and elsewhere, the restrictions are part of broader sanctions that have rattled Russia’s markets and currency and hobbled its economy.

The renewable Temporary Denial Orders issued Thursday are among the most severe civil penalties the U.S. can issue over an export control matter, and could ground the airlines over time by cutting them off from necessary support and maintenance, the officials said.

"Go ahead and keep your pew-pew AR and see how long you last against an F-22/M1." Okay dumb ass what does this imply? What military has M1 tanks and F22 fighters? You leftest have the IQ's of dirt.

But can Russian officers learn the lessons of their failures and then adopt new tactics? Can the retreating Russian troops really regroup in any coherent way? Moscow’s military chiefs are also calling up reservists to beef up the ranks. Can these troops, having had little or no training, be integrated into active-duty units? The answer to all three questions: Maybe, but unlikely.

John Pike, director of Global Security.org, a research firm, says the reserves “are too small or too inept to make a difference in Donbas.” He adds that the troops redeploying from the area around Kyiv to Donbas are fatigued and demoralized. Together, these weaknesses leave the Russians far short of the three-to-one advantage they need to counter the Ukrainians, to use Napoleon’s rule of thumb.

Ukraine faces a challenge in the coming battle as well. Its army has also suffered losses, and it is running low on the European-supplied weapons and ammunition. Little is known and nothing has been leaked about how quickly the latest shipments of these weapons—the tanks, drones, anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles, and the rest—are pouring into Ukraine and, from there, being transported to the eastern front. (The distance between Lviv and Donbas is 800 miles.) Before the main fight begins, there is likely to be a fight—involving attacks on roads, rail lines, and other supply routes and depots—over which side can get positioned for battle more quickly.

So, they're executing anyone of fighting age anyway, and your best idea is to not have a gun and just get slotted anyway?

If you come out to shoot at them in your neighborhood, they'll off the entire neighborhood.
It's how things are working over there - folks aren't welcoming them as rescuers, so they just kill all of them.

So your idea is to not resist at all and hope it works out? Good thing the Ukrainians don't think like you.

How's being a peaceful civilian working out over there?

Didn't you just proclaim they were killing any fighting aged people anyway? Seems like if you were a fighting age person, having a method of self defense might be in your best interest.

What a weird take.

It seems like the point was extremely clear. T

So as to not ruin the thread and make a Ukraine comparison. Having weapons when your neighbor is Russia and has invaded in the past decade is vastly different than when your neighbors are Canada and Mexico. Technically, we were invaded FROM Canada by the British (we started it) in 1812....and Mexico has never made any significant advance toward our military (we invaded them).

If your reason for owning a military style weapon is that we might be invaded and you get to cosplay Red Dawn, that's stupid....So your reason for owning a military style weapon must be that you're afraid of the military....which you said would never attack the citizenry.

There is a third option, but you won't like it.

Not gonna matter

Your best option is escaping, then banding up with others who have real weapons.

Individuals with single weapons don't make a lick of difference; they'll shoot you, then rape your children and wife, then kill them all.

The ones who survived are the ones who hunkered down and hid.

Ok, sure thing Joe.

Anyone wondering how making this a war between nuclear powers could turn the holocaust into a picnic should observe the sentiment above and realize it’s not unique, and liable to widen as the war widens.
