This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

Maybe Starlink was just a stopgap which allowed Ukraine to survive the early days of the invasion when Russia knocked out their "traditional" infrastructure and has been replaced with something else. Not sure.
My guess is this. 1. We are supplying the Ukes with real time data and sat com. 2. We have many many special operators helping them. By us I mean G Britain, US, Australia etc. Those things don't just magically blow up all over Russia. And himars are useless without accurate targeting info. Drones are awesome but if you don't believe we aren't deep upto our noses, then we are just being ignorant. And Russia knows this also.

US stated early on we were providing target info to Ukraine.
Air and space based radar is what was spotting the ammo dumps. You can’t avoid the radar reflecting bread crumbs (trucks) required for concentrating and distributing supplies in a war zone.

If you mean boots on the ground at the front by "up to our noses," I don't agree, but I do agree we are providing them a LOT of actionable intelligence. And atleast early on, and probably still, I don't think you can discount the value of trusted people on their cell phones providing intelligence they see with their own eyes or record. Whether that requires Starlink, or they otherwise have cell service, I do not know.

That has to be sandbagging talk, right? How the hell is Russia supposed to conduct offensive operations this winter?
I think you are right-they don't want to hint at what Ukraine has planned though they kind of did that a little in predicting the collapse of the front.
If Ukraine keeps getting equipment and reinforcements I don't see them stopping during the winter, especially in the South where Crimea must be an appealing place to visit during the winter months:)

What exactly is Russia going to trade besides energy?

The end of this will be a partitioning of Russia with all of the wealth that Putin squandered being used to rebuild Ukraine, Europe paying Ukrainian companies to sell Russian energy that will be part of its suit for peace, Europe physically rebuilding Ukraine, and Ukraine paying back the UK and US for everything it has done to make this possible. Essentially, Europe is going to get the dirty work in return for energy and America and the UK profit off it at the expense of Russia.

And then we all say haha sorry when the Russians cry that it's not fair.
As much as I like to think that, I predict none of that will happen.

Sounds like Ukraine is sending a message and has the troops to back it up.

"LONDON, Oct 4 (Reuters) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko accused neighbouring Ukraine on Tuesday of sending 15,000 troops to the border area to build defences and conduct reconnaissance, actions that he called "provocations".

Lukashenko allowed his close ally Russia in February to use Belarus as a staging post for its invasion of Ukraine. However, he has said Belarus is not a party to the conflict and that its own forces are not involved.

In comments carried by the state news agency BelTA, Lukashenko said the Ukrainian unit brought up to the border had blocked roads and was setting up checkpoints and firing positions.

"In a word, [Ukraine] has not only barricaded itself, but built a wall. Constantly conducting optical, radio-electronic and radio-technical reconnaissance of our territory, troops and objects," Lukashenko said.

"Often with their drones violating the line of the state border. And at the same time, they worry and worry: 'Oh, don't let Belarus enter the war'. And there are constant provocations at the border."

Belarus can suck a D. They not only let Russia roll through on their way to invading Ukraine, but also allowed the buildup there, and Russia to use its airspace to fire rockets/missiles. Now that Ukraine has the people and goods to make sure that never happens again, they whine that this is a Ukrainian provocation? GTFO.

That’s rich. That dickhead needs to eat a bullet before this is all over too. Putin’s little b*tch.

Or put another way...every time someone posts in this thread, nearly 2 Russian soldiers die.

Downright strange that Ukrainian propaganda wouldn’t mention the red line everyone talked about for decades was NATO membership, and that’s precisely what the neocons started pushing again as soon as they got back into the White House.

What followed was what had been predicted if NATO membership for Ukraine was pushed.

The diplomatic cables were leaked years ago. The assessments were correct.

No one has been more influential in promoting Ukraine's membership to NATO than Vladimir Putin.
