This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

Am I wrong for thinking the next 48 hours are going to decide this thing? Seems like the make or break for Russia.
I can’t see Russia admitting defeat anytime soon.

I think Russia long term already lost. The world has United around Ukraine. Sanctions and isolation are not going away anytime soon.

somebody even tried to sabotage a yacht of a rich Russian in a foreign port

the reputation of Russia military has taken a huge hit. They seem unorganized and their equipment is shit. They look awful attacking a neighbor, imagine the incompetence if they needed to transport troops via naval forces.

All valid. I would think if we were going to see any large gasp from Russia it would be fairly soon also. Russia has lost long* term no matter what. They will never be feared the same they were again.

I just saw an American general on CNN. I forget his name but he's on the news weekly, at least.

He said he's observed the Russian military up close and their leadership is "terrible" at all levels.

That CNN footage of the burned out Russky vehicles with the dead body is tough to watch.
Question- any numbers on Ukrainian casualties?

SO grateful for this thread guys. Glad it’s here. 🇺🇸❤️

So far I've only seen them release civilian casualties, which I think was 300+ BEFORE the Kharkiv neighborhood shelling last night, so it could easily double.

I haven't seen much good analysis on Ukrainian losses since the first day, but most people think they're significant but well less than Russia. Obviously it helps with the world on your side, but most people feel like the Ukrainian operational information has been locked down a lot better than expected given the situation.

One of the factors of how ill conceived this was for Russia, is their plan to be so quick they would basically not even acknowledge it. The fact that they've had to pretend for their own people that its no big deal has totally ceded the information battlefield to the Ukrainians. Normally in a war they'd be touting their enemy's losses, but that would require them to acknowledge they are at war. I think they just recently admitted to A casualty on their side.

Sh*thole countries trying to help:

Oh look 🇷🇺 bombing residential neighborhoods again.

Anyone else think the orders the Russian soldiers are getting are along the lines of:

Orders: Fire your rockets.
Soldier 1: Where?
Commander: South.
Soldier 1: But....
Commander: I said fire your rockets!

Given how poorly trained many of these conscripts seem to be, I also wonder if the operators of this equipment are even capable of making precise strikes. They may not have even been trained on how to configure the weapons beyond the most basic of commands.

I just have to say I remember a couple years ago there was an argument from many people that NATO was not necessary anymore.

I think those people need to eat some crow on that one.
The world banned together for right and wrong. I think you could make an argument either way. I don't think you can dispute it cost the USA way more than it gives the USA.

This thread is amazing. Legendary. I’ve ditched all the major sites and am now relying on this thread as my sole source of info.

Besides the numbnuts to selfish to stop derailing it with the petty sniping everywhere else on this board, people on this board have done a pretty amazing job. Somehow we've avoided posting too much that turned out to be bullshit.

And what that means to me is that if you're following the right people out there, there's a lot of pretty good information coming from the front lines. I do think we've been a little ahead of the "actual" news cycle by 12-24 hours in terms of the general trend of how this is going.

It’s very strange. Russian under Putins control has excelled at at least projecting some sort of alternative reality that pro-Russia people could latch on to as what’s “real”, but they have almost completely and utterly failed at this since their first attack last week. Tucker was utterly pathetic in how he was shilling for Russia prior to the invasion, I haven’t t seen him mentioned on this thread at all since the fighting began.

I was never for pulling out of NATO. It's an incredibly stupid idea. I will say, one of the very few things Trump was correct on while in office was calling out other NATO countries for dragging their ass on NATO funding. Seems like a few of them are waking up to that at this point, looking at you Germany.

I don't entirely disagree with that. But there were some who made the argument that NATO was no longer necessary.
