I answered that earlier about them doing the cuts because of the 3-3-3 bessent plan. But you guys are making assumptions on the deficits and tax cuts. When they release the ins and outs of the Trump tax cuts and what is passed I will revisit it with you guys. But if this happens the end result would be more inflation and less services.
Regarding Tesla and OSHA, idk much about this subject but it’s makes you wonder what is actually going on behind the scenes. Please post some links and I’ll take a look at it.
The info is incomplete. It doesn't explain how it was funded or approved. The tweet makes it sound like the funding was done underhandedly and is wasteful. More in depth reporting would include research on the spending to answer those additional questions.
I just follow the news on the MSM and also via the blogs and Twitter/Blue-sky accounts that I've followed for the last 20 years. Having full access to the NY Times and Wash Post and Wall St Journal is fabulous (If you don't have access to those sources through work or don't want to pay yourself your local library may offer free online subscriptions) and try to use critical thinking skills to discern what is and isn't bullshit. I don't feel like listing every possible source of information I consult because it's way too long a list, and to tell the truth the MSM political reporting is completely horrendous, you wouldn't be able to understand this era at all if you relied on what the NY Times political desk "reports". I also actually do consume conservative media content like Fox News and blogs like instapundit to see what they're saying.
I also try to hold accountable sources that turn out to not be credible and try to understand and account for my own limitations when it comes to smarts and analytical abilities and my prejudices/biases.
But I just mainly think about what is plausible and what's not plausible. You really think that Elon's blitzkrieg over the last 2 weeks has been about finding waste in the government? And how would he possibly with his invasions of government agencies and systems at this point be doing anything other than just "setting up". It's all just completely absurd.
And as has been documented, all of his "revelations" so far have come from already publicly available sources and are mostly just retread rightwing media stuff.
Finally, Musk has been an ongoing serial liar about his businesses and he daily posts and reposts false/misleading junk in his twitter feed. Why would anyone see him as a credible source about anything?

Yeah I don’t follow the MSM or legacy media at all other than when I’m watching it on the treadmill haha.
I love the reporting Ezra Klein does from the NYT and listen to all of his Podcasts. I listen to Pod save America, Jon Stewart daily and weekly show, I watch Bill Maher, I listen to Tucker Carlson, Joe Rogan dependent on the guest, started listening to the All in podcast with the billionaires, and follow all types of subreddits for news.
In terms of Elon, this Elon blietzkrieg is a a mix of Trump getting red meat for his base, getting back at his political “enemies”, and probably had a deal with Elon for all that money to be able to do this. There is obviously financial gain for Elon or else he wouldn’t be doing this. I was listening to the latest Ezra Klein pod with Kara Swisher and they basically summed up Elon perfectly. He is a 15 year old boy that is awkward and super smart.
When I say that it is when we send money to a NGO for a project that is supposed to be completed was it actually competed and was the money spent as it was intended. Should we trust these career politicians and lobbyists within the Washington sphere with taxpayer funds?
He has some interesting guests on there. Just because I listen to him doesn’t mean I take him at his word. A lot of times he is a buffoon but I’m more interested in the conversation tbh.

I’ve always been interested but it’s the #1 news story in America right now. Brings a lot more interest to the subject. Also I’m hearing from both sides perspectives on here which is why I enjoy HORT.
Government funds were designated to build a beyooteeful wall? Was it completed? Do you trust those peeps running that project?
What I think is fascinating is all of the republicans expressing outrage and awe over everything Musk has "found" over the past 2 weeks...that somehow in their various committees in Congress has evaded them for years.
This is a really, really really dumb statement. Auditors who have that level of accuracy, get fired, get sued, and get barred from working in the industry.
This was reading like a well thought out response... then you used "blitzkrieg" and "invasion" to describe DOGE's digging into govt spending and it verified you and whatever sources you've followed for 20 years aren't remotely legitimate.
The White House has been split 50/50 this century and I'd imagine that the majority party in Congress has been split pretty close to even as well (too lazy to look it up). But all of the "waste" that Doge and Elon have found are related to liberal programs.
