Toledo vs iowa

rebound on one end, lay in on the other

Last night I took about 3 screen shots of Heiden's joyful smile after her fastbreak bucket. I'm glad this got posted - it's a keeper.

For some reason I was really glad to see her smiling. I think it's because she's SO far from home and I want her to fit in and be happy. I know, I fret over her like I'm her mother. But my maternal instincts were on overdrive and I didn't know I even had any 🤷‍♂️.
Her family moved to north liberty, so they are close.

Still think Dinnebauer couldn’t crack our rotation?
No, I was wrong on her! Unsuccessfully tried to argue too bullish of a point.

To my more general claim of *some* of our depth pieces being good enough to "be in the conversation" for MVC player of the year (my claim that started this whole thing when we were talking about Callie Levin) -- I do stand by that. Unfortunately some of the nuance got lost and I came across poorly (my fault).

??? Which is what I responded to. The poster said we had "shooters everywhere". To which I said, I'm not so sure that we do have "shooters". I'd agree we have scorers, BUT as we've discussed before that feed the post is great until we play a really good team with a big post player, (UCLA, Nebraska, Ohio State) and they zone us. With Lucy being a lane player we need Kylie, McCabe, Syd, and Mallengi to shoot fairly well against good teams or we're going to struggle. I like the new wrinkle of AOG in the high post and feeding cutters, but we will need to be able to make teams pay for zoning us as well.
I was referring to the same post.

True enough. It didn't hurt that Dinnebaur shot like 23 free throws. Anybody breathed in her direction got a foul called on them. Just watched the game on you tube, ad I'll just say Drake was REALLY well schooled on flopping to the floor on even minimal contact...

She’s a really good player. Say what you want. She got fouled a lot.

Cmon now. I never said she wasn't a good player, but her constant stroll to the free throw line was a bit much. Not saying she didn't get fouled but not to the level they were calling. There were a number of those where she fell down getting brushed and yet another whistle. As in a lot of the games the refs also call a bunch of jump balls where we have the thing in two hands and the other player puts one hand on the ball, and its a jump. I'd guess the womens game gets three times as many jump balls as the mens game does, because refs are trying to avoid physical play.
