Tom Osborne=Art Briles??

Fyi, Des Moines was rated one of the top cities to live in not too long ago. Bob Seger famously sang about a "lone and lonesome highway east of Omaha" in his hit song "Turn the Page," so you are probably in good company as far as people being bored to tears driving through Iowa. Of course, everyone knows there is not a more flat, dull, and boring stretch of road then the one that goes through Nebraska from Iowa to Colorado, so it would seem the whole proverbial "pot meet kettle" would apply here.

In short, this inane pissing match has reached a whole new level of stupid. It kind of reminds me of...

Yes, this. Arguing about who's state is funner to drive thru. Wow.

I'm living in the present, in which we have a winning record against Iowa in the B1G. Just to bring you up to speed, that means you have a losing record against us.

Presently and for the last decade plus, the skirts haven't been relevant. At least you have your VHS tapes to relive your acient history.

Please dazzle us with your vast football knowledge again . That is very entertaining.

And I'm telling you they are clueless. Our problems will be on defense. Our Offensive line is going to be able to move the ball on the ground, and our WR Corp is the best in the B1G.

Our defensive front is going to take some time to come into its own. Teams will be able to run the ball on us. At least early in the B1G season.

Look dude, I don't give a wet crap about your team except the week we play you. The ONLY reason I'll pay attention to your team is to enjoy the number of interceptions thrown by Tommy Turnover. That and the number of rapes or sexual assaults committed by your "stars".

I had to suck it up at a wedding in Nebraska and I ended up enjoying the conversation because YOUR fans are down on YOUR program. And...............2 of these guys work at UNL. One is a big wig. He said they never should have added on to the stadium and your consecutive sell out record is in trouble. He said the fan base is living in the past and the future does not look that good. He also said they made a huge error on how they got rid of Bo and that Riley is a doof with no personality.

  • So don't argue with me. I'm just reporting.
  • Don't tell me about your team because I couldn't care less.
  • If your daughter is hot with big tits and strips for a living, let me know where she's dancing and I'll come watch her.

You are Iowa State. Iowa is your big brother. The Iowa game is your super bowl.

That's great you get up for us like ISU does. The bottom line is, the nation agrees that Iowa is far above Nebraska. FIVE top 10 finishes in the last decade for Iowa to ZERO for Nebraska.

Very true, not that Iowa is exactly a vacation destination either. However, central to western Nebby is just absolutely horrible....too many times have I had to make that damn drive and each time Nebby worse and worse

Since 2001 is technically the start of the 21st Century let's throw out the facts to hopefully end this debate now.

Nebraska Top 25 AP poll finishes: 7-- 2001 #8, 2003 #19, 2005 #23, 2009 #14, 2010 #20, 2011 #24, 2012 #25

Iowa Top 25 AP poll finishes: 6--2002 #8, 2003 #8, 2004 #8, 2008 #20, 2009 #7, 2015 #9

Top 10 AP poll finishes: Iowa 5 Nebraska 1
Head to Head wins: Nebraska 3 Iowa 2

Iowa clearly has an advantage on most Top 10 AP finishes. Beyond that, it's pretty much a wash. Does this satisfactorily satisfy every one? Or should we go back to discussing trees and rocks?

Let's go by your 2001-20015
Nebraska-127-69 and 10 seasons with 9 or more wins.
Iowa- 123-68 and 7 seasons with 9 or more wins.

And for some of you that don't know how long a decade is it's 10 years, so Iowa has made the top 10 twice.... Ya ya I know more then Nebraska....

Bottom line Hawks are just as relevant as the Huskers.... No better No worse.

Sure just ignore 2015. Good job skirt fan.

Wow, interesting. You are incredible. "Bottom line Hawks are just as relevant as the Huskers...No better No worse." Sounds about exactly what I said (other than Iowa having significantly more Top 10 finishes, it's a wash).

And what the hell are you talking about with the whole "decade...10 years, so Iowa has made...twice" spiel? That makes absolutely no sense, especially since you agreed to go by my 2001-2015 benchmark. You know, the 21st century? Newsflash: We've been living in the 21st century for longer than a decade (yes, more than 10 years).

That's the point many of us have made. To bad many of your fellow NU fans choose to ignore this. We've had higher highs of late but lower lows.

I will take our 5.....COUNT EM.....FIVE top 10 finishes vs your ZERO in the last decade.

So who has the higher expectations? LOL.

The way you talk, your fan base should be demanding the death penalty for football.

Directed toward this.

And by the way the 21 century started in 2000 not 2001 if you want to get technical about it all.

Per Wikipedia:

The 20th century was a century that began on January 1, 1901[1] and ended on December 31, 2000.[2][3] It was the tenth and final century of the 2nd millennium. It is distinct from the century known as the 1900s (sometimes written as 19XX), which began on January 1, 1900 and ended on December 31, 1999.

So, scarletred, wrong again. :p

Oh No! A Husker fan speaking out of his azz. Shame on you scarletred!

The 21st Century actually and officially started on January 1, 2001 and will continue until December 31, 2100.

National championship hunt means the final 4.

Matter of interpretation. Had Iowa won the B1G title game they would have been in. They lost in the final seconds. To me, that's being in the hunt.

There were a few teams in the hunt last season that didn't make the final 4. Much like TCU in 2014. They weren't in the final 4, but they were certainly in the hunt.

Had they won Yes they would have, but didn't.TCU and Baylor shared the Big 12 title so they were in the hunt.

So one year makes you relevant. I quess we have different opinion on the meaning.

I'll take being relevant in the most recent year over a sub 500 record. Jmo

I have never used the term "relevant." Frankly, I don't know what "relevant" means to you or anyone else as far as collegiate sports are concerned. Iowa is relevant to me because that is one of the college football teams I follow. Beyond that, I couldn't care less what anyone else thinks.

You are speaking in nebulous, general terms to substantiate hair-splitting points, and you contradict yourself in the process. TCU and Baylor missed the final 4 in 2014--criteria you were using in a previous post as what it means to be "in the hunt" as a way of denigrating Iowa. Again, since "in the hunt" is strictly a matter of opinion because it is a nebulous term, your opinion is not any better than his. And since you change your criteria for what constitutes being in the hunt from one post to the next, you've lost all credibility, anyway.

Remind me again who was murdered, who attempted murder, and who was raped, as these accusations pertain to the University of Nebraska? That's right, no one.

And BTW, that linked sexual assault case is every bit as serious as anything Lawrence Phillips or Tom Osborne did. That's your coaches trying to cover it up.

"The most publicized was tailback Lawrence Phillips' assault of his former girlfriend, but there were others. Riley Washington, a reserve wingback, was charged with second-degree murder in a case still pending. Tyrone Williams was charged with shooting a gun at a moving car two years ago. Defensive tackle Christian Peter had several altercations with women, as reported on an episode of "48 Hours" that used the Huskers' problems as a vehicle for debating sports and violence."

Yet light years ahead of the skirts.

LOL, different sport, POS coach that is hated here and 1 isolated incident, BRILLIANT. You guys worship that POS Osborne like he is the Messiah and really don't seem to care at all of what it took for your scumbag program to finally get over the edge in the 90s. Just win baby!!!! #WEAREPEDSTATE #GOBIGRED

I will take our 5.....COUNT EM.....FIVE National Titles vs your ZERO since I started watching football in 1969.

Only one good way to travel that stretch. From 35,000 feet.

So Tom Osborne was a scum bag............

Thank god Frontier flies out of CR and DM now, much cheaper. The one great thing about both states is that I can stop and get some Casey's pizza on the drive home

And sold your soul to the devil to get them, disgusting what that Fbag Osborne the Messiah did to get over the edge, appalling but your cult like behaviors will never let you rationalize that.

Well done.

I try to stay out of these talks when it gets to trash talking between the fan bases. I'm a pretty positive dude and love coming to this board to chat about B1G football. Tom Osborne had his set of issues in the 90s. If there had been social media around then, it could have been bad. I'm sure social media would have exposed a ton of teams and bad apples (including coaches) in the 90s. Not just Nebraska.

I talk to a ton of friends that are excited for the 30 For 30. I'm excited to see it too. I was just a teenager in those years, and it was a fun time to be a Nebraska fan. That being said-I know that those teams weren't made up of Angels. That's for sure. (Christian Peter, Lawrence Phillips, Abdul Mohammad and Riley Washington gun incident. All of this is very upsetting to me as a fan, even 20 years later) All that stuff will be exposed. And there is no way the film maker will leave it out. I hope Husker fans are ready for that.

I respect Nebby fans who have an IQ and are not part of the cult.
