Yes, actually. Because that's what our TV media and social media focus on—the superficial candy-ass bullshit. TV has no time to get wonky about policy, current, historical or proposed, because it has, since its inception, helped create a populace with ever-lowering attention span. TV has like 10 seconds to make you feel something so you'll remain engaged. And/or it needs dramatic cliffhangers which are also evocative on a feel level.

So, yes, polling at this stage of their careers is absolutely on the superficial shit. Because as Congresspeople they haven't exactly had the time to make much of an impact on policy.

I always defend AOC because I defend the GND because I've actually read the damn thing. And I've observed enough of her in hearings on C-SPAN to consider her well-prepared and unafraid to hold power to account.
