Bluesky is taking off bigly. Added 600k people today. A true mass exodus also taking fire on X from what I hear now that there is a true alternative. As they leave X will become truly a chit show.

Since I have the podcast and Twitter still drives most of my traffic, I won’t be ending over there, but no doubt the interactions on BlueSky are better. I’ve probably picked up 50+ followers in the last 36 hours, so hopefully the migration continues.

So I've never used Twitter to post and have never used it to scroll through content. I used to use it for public transit updates and such. But mostly I've had an account to be able read things that get embedded here and in news stories.
I've downloaded Bluesky. How do you recommend using it? Find some channels and start the scrolling?

Except they call it Russia, fascism, authoritarianism, etc. If you think these assertions aren't conspiracy theories in their own way you're not thinking critically about it. Select topics you like and look for stater packs: for example the aforementioned Hawkeye starter pack. Basically a link to a bunch of Hawkeye fans you can follow at one click and they will follow you back. Look for others. Week in I am already up to 1/3 my Twitter followers made over 7 years (not a lot so low bar). And none of them are bot followers. I searched for FSU starter pack and found one.

Never had Twitter, Instagram, snap chat, etc. Pretty sure I'll skip this one too. But it does make my heart happy to see Twitter lose money.
Maybe my demographic will start changing. Suddenly I’ve increased my followers like 6-fold in the last two days. It still needs to go up 6x to match my Twitter following, but when you factor out porn and political bots, it’s probably not nearly that pronounced. It’s definitely a more pleasant experience and more like the old bird days of Twitter.
