This is kind of interesting. I wonder how many of these options would be OK with a fella like Steve King?

How about polyandry? One woman, more than one man. Supposedly common in the Himalayan countries. Of course, not Biblical (Old Testament, really). And then there were the Egyptian Dynasties where brother and sister were supposed to marry.

In a perfect world, one man and one woman would
constitute the traditional Biblical marriage.

However, we do not live in a perfect world and so
one man and many women was a sinful perversion
of God's institution of marriage in the Old Testament.
God never approved of polygamy but He tolerated
it.

Where in the Bible does it say God tolerated it? Just curious.

Jacob had 4 wives who gave him a total of 12 sons.
He was the father of the 12 tribes of Israel. God
never punished Jacob for his polygamy.

Well, those are bibilical, but not bibilical. See there was Jesus, and while he didn't say anything about types of marriage, we're going to pretend that it somehow makes sense that those don't apply any longer.

Mark 10:1

It's not just the Bible, though. In ancient Greece, women were wives (property) or slaves, but free men (tops) typically had casual sex for pleasure with eunuchs (bottoms, for obvious reasons) rather than women. Having sex with women was purely for procreation. Why? No birth control. It wasn't about being homosexual, just about avoiding unwanted pregnancies and births.

SMH my fault for thinking you would figure it out on your own read verse 5 through 9
I did. It's talking about divorce. Nothing about leaving behind all the other forms of marriage. Now you feel free to cite something the says otherwise.

lol, I see you left out the context. Typical. But that still doesn't say that a man shouldn't take a war conquest and make her his bride. Or a rape victim. Or his brother's widow. Or more than one woman. It's just saying that while Moses allowed divorce Jesus is saying it's wrong because once you're married you're joined by God. It doesn't explicitly say that you can't marry more than once or any of the other flavors listed. You're reading into what you want to see.

In fairness to @RNHawk , more than divorce is discussed here. There is a quote from Jesus that speaks to the Godly design of man and woman becoming one flesh (note that judgement and punishment is not mentioned - but the Godly intent and design is clearly stated):

Mark 10:6-8 NIV
[6] “But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female .’ a [7] 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, [8] and the two will become one flesh …”

You’re deflecting here Belem. You left out context too. The Pharisees were trying to catch Jesus in a trap. The whole point of Jesus’s arrival was to tear down the old (man made) law and establish his new covenant.

Bringing up any old Jewish laws is worthless when comparing to Jesus’s new teaching and his new promise.

Here's the whole thing - read it as a whole. What's it about? Divorce.

1 Jesus then left that place and went into the region of Judea and across the Jordan. Again crowds of people came to him, and as was his custom, he taught them.
2 Some Pharisees came and tested him by asking, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”
3 “What did Moses command you?” he replied.
4 They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and send her away.”
5 “It was because your hearts were hard that Moses wrote you this law,” Jesus replied.
6 “But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’
7 ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,
8 and the two will become one flesh.’So they are no longer two, but one flesh.
9 Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
10 When they were in the house again, the disciples asked Jesus about this.
11 He answered, “Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her.
12 And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery.”

Yes, do you think the Gospel writers were bound to delineate each and every discussion topic into its own chapter? Throughout the passage, Jesus uses the terms husband and wife repeatedly. That’s no accident.

It’s about divorce on the surface. Moreso, it is about Jesus abolishing the old law and establishing a new covenant and outlining His divinity to the Pharisees and God’s design for mankind.

This is the correct answer. Maybe not the "tolerated it" part. It was still a sin. They just did it, just like some do now.

This is a clear endorsement of same sex marriage. If you divorce your wife, you can avoid the sin Jesus speaks of by marrying another man. Clear as day.

Since we are living in the 21st century, our goal is
to remain faithful to God's purpose for marriage.
He instituted marriage as a relationship between
one man and one woman. Due to sin in the world
people choose to ignore God's will in various areas
of their life.

Yeah, but it’s a tolerable sin.

Could they have PIITB of the women to avoid pregnancies rather than get with eunuchs? I didn't word this well, but it's a real question.
