Tyson v. Paul fight

Yep, Tyson is ripped right now. One upper cut landing means Paul landing on the mat. All I know is even though this is free through Netflix, I will be pissed off if this some fake fight. I want to see blood.
I am no boxer, but have just sparred to stay in shape and keep defenses up. I'm 54 and to see the ferocity with which Tyson still punches, especially to the body, just makes me hurt. Tyson could have killed a doughy Roy Jones Jr. if he had gone all out. Hopefully we get to see a real fight this time.

If this fight is legit, no way it goes four or five. Hopefully this isn't Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. titty fighting. Paul has definitely had some fights and Tyson is old as shite, no doubt. That said, the combination of body blows from Tyson followed by uppercuts in quick succession make this very interesting. Paul better be agile or he is going to get tomato-canned. Even with Tyson at 58, Paul hasn't been hit like he's going to get hit in this fight.

Line is down to Paul -220, I'll hit Tyson at +185 just for grins.
If the fight is not staged, it doesn't go past two rounds, one way of the other. Paul has knockout power, and Tyson still does as he KO'd is sparring partner recently even wearing those giant gloves while his sparring partner was wearing protective head gear. Apparently the dude had to go to the hospital.

Tyson totally let Jones off the hook. He could have turned his lights out if he wanted to.

I hope you are right. Tyson would lose all credibility to me if he doesn't go out in a blaze of glory

Dropped my bet for Tyson.

Needs to go full Balboa mode.

I don't think so. If this is staged no one (well, a hugely reduced number of people) will ever tune to something like this again. At least not for Jake Paul. I think a body is going to hit the floor in the first round, maybe the second.
hope u r right.

LOL this doesn't look good at all. Most of these are two punches, maybe three, then rest time. And not fast at all compared to a normal fighter. The pad guy is also hardly at all throwing swings back to force defense. He does a couple times but not the way that drill usually is.

And the biggest problem with an aged fighter isn't being able to hit hand pads LOL. It's pulling the trigger when you are in there with an opponent that moves and throws punches back. The mind loses that split second of processing time, and you find yourself not able to pull the trigger.

Sounds like you are in the first FSU - Iowa tailgate fight club match:)

Like I said before, one side of this debate is going to look dumb. Don’t know which side.

I don't have any skin in it other than a $50 bet. But I really want Tyson to knock this loudmouth out. Walk away. Don't talk shite after the fight. Knock him out. Walk silently back to the locker-room like you've been there before.

I wouldnt be surprised if the fight is staged/Tyson takes a fall for a large wad of money.

I don't see it. He would lose that money quicker than he earned it. I'm trying to positive. I want to believe Tyson has good intentions. Not that it matters anymore.

Look i think Paul wins this thing fairly easily because of the age difference.

All of that being said... you can make a good case that 87-89 Tyson was the greatest boxer of all time. By some analysis he was the hardest hitter of all time, perhaps Deontay Wilder has that record now. You cannot explain to someone today what those years in the late 80's were like. Tyson was arguable the biggest sports star on the planet. Something boxing hasn't had since. The black trunks and boots. His menacing appearance and stalking in the ring. What a time to be a little kid.

But we're talking about like a 30 year age gap here. I hope im wrong, but it seems everyone is thinking Mike is going to be late 80's Mike, but that was 35 years ago.

we are all picturing the scariest man on the planet. The guy who dripped charisma and swag. Thay guy hasn't fought in 35 years.

Vegas has Paul as a -250 favorite, and Tyson +200 dog. For sure vegas thinks Paul will win but those are pretty close odds, in my opinion.
That does not bold well for a Tyson victory. Paul wins. But the good thing about it, they both love Trump.😁

Just coincidentally I saw something come up on twitter with Tyson doing pad work that looked much, much better than this video. That doesn't change what I expect, but apparently this video was not necessarily indicative.

Does anyone know or anticipate the main event will air? Is this going to be similar to a traditional 11:30ish main event? Or earlier since it's on Netflix?

he is the single most influential athlete in my life. No other athlete captivated my interest more than him. I was 13 when he won the heavy title. Every fight was like Christmas morning. I was lucky enough to have a good friend who's dad was rich and a fight fan..so we got fights via satellite.

I was born in 74. In my teenaged years, I got Jordan, Tyson, and Bo Jackson all bunched together. Then throw in Barry Sanders and Shaq. What a time to be a teenager!

I think we saw this out of Tyson 20-25 years ago also when he was still fighting studs. Once Douglas solved him, a lot of guys stopped fearing him.
