He’s not going to be the starter at 125 either. He looks like a 133. Not a particularly interested 133, but a 133.
The panic about 125 in the first few duals looks sillier and sillier by the day.
I’m hoping we get to see Glazier vs Wyatt Voelker. I maintain that Wyatt would look good in black and gold.
I’m ok with that if the first string are all hammers. That’s where I’d invest.
An oddity about this tournament is that there isn’t a single non-D1 team. No D2, D3, NAIA, or JC. All D1 and a few solos. Quite a surprise given the number of small college teams in the proximity. A few reasonably full brackets but also some 3 mans. Drake will get 2 matches.
So, he made the semi-finals. Sounds like he’s on a roll…

He looks good so far. Good size. No shoulder wrap. Active. Great pace.
Drake looked really good over Iowa St kid. 16-6. Has a really diverse arsenal of takedowns, very entertaining to watch. Constant pressure, looks really good physically.
Drakes shuck is a thing of beauty. He can almost tell you it’s coming and you still can’t defend it.

I think the ride was by design from the corner. Almost had that arm bar too. He’s very sticky on top. Will serve him well in tight matches.

I thought it was fairly harmless and certainly not worth this dialogue. I mean it’s “turd”. And I’d say the reference is kinda like the old saying for men in a relationship. “I didn’t say you are a bitch, I just said you’re acting like one!”

Rathjen just smeared Isaac Judge. Had him flat as a pancake for 2-3 seconds but the ref didn’t bother to get in position.

over the line imo. he’s not a big recruit and not expected to start. he’s a valuable part of the room. just no point in calling back ups turds. he’d break you in half.
difference between calling someone a turd based on their persona -gilman earned that a few times over- and them just not being very good. if he was a starter i’d get the frustration. don’t understand why anybody is wasting energy worrying what the 4th string 133 looks like at the uni open.
Holy shit…. When did we become so soft? Who wasn’t a big recruit? Ybarra?? I believe he was a top 30 or better type recruit and many expected him to be a post season scorer for us. I would think you of all people would know this.
For the record, I’m not defending “name calling” but it hardly blipped on the radar for me and certainly wasn’t something to climb up a horse about. His lack of any effort whatsoever was very disheartening and gave me the sads. I hope he gets a big, shiny, participation trophy.
I’ll go one further and really bury myself here…. I’d like to know why you think he’s a valuable part of the room after watching him compete since he’s been here? Jace Rhodes is already a more valuable work out partner in the light weights.
