US pausing tariffs to Mexico & Canada for a month

Trump:
I'll impose tariffs
Tariffs will not increase prices on goods and services.
Tariffs will have no negative effect on the stock market.
Tariffs will decrease grocery prices.
Turns out grocery prices are hard to decrease.
Tariffs might cause some increased prices.
I guess I'm not going to do tariffs anymore.

Playing fast and loose with Tariffs as a “negotiating” tool wouldn’t be how I’d do things- but I’m not President of anything.

But, this was literally promised, so not sure why it’s surprising to anyone

Weird moreso because it didn't work.
How so? It's not like he campaigned Mexico would build the wall. FFS some of you are dense. Trump said that, and it never happened,

You're missing the point. Biden was able to gain agreement without having to threaten them. The last I checked, the troops that Mexico sent to the border haven't worked yet so Trump is also a failure. I am trying to figure out what your angle is. It makes no sense.

This is why Trump has been repeatedly proven to be a terrible deal maker, but a great con artist.
What’s the metric Mexico will be measured by in 30 days? Trump put a timeline on himself when normally he gives the vague, “In a few weeks/months”, word salad.
He got played today, but the rubes lap it up. The question remains, what happens in 30 days? Another 30 days? Then, another?

This is why Trump is president and you’re a worthless Marxist keyboard warrior. You have no idea how to negotiate anything except a handjob in a bathhouse.

Ts and Ps to the paperwork guys at US Customs

So what happens when the power to some of our northern states is shut off?

One should get their ducks in a row before they start with all these ridiculous EOs.

Where do you think the utility trucks come from when the power is out in the Northeast after a natural disaster? Hint: it’s not Florida.

Some people need a geography review and some maps.

"Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum is currently giving her morning news conference, in which she is detailing the phone call with Trump that appears to have led to today's agreement.

The Mexican government clearly sees this as a victory.

After discussing fentanyl and the deployment of additional Mexican National Guard troops to the border, Sheinbaum says she "explained the seriousness of high-powered weapons arriving to Mexico from the US" and into the hands of criminal groups.

"It gives them firepower," she adds. "We asked that the US also help our country by helping stop this arms trafficking...he agreed."

Among the most important elements, she adds, will be whether any disruption to the flow of weapons brings down violence in Mexico, and whether drug trafficking can be disrupted.

"We have this month to work and convince ourselves, among everyone, that this is the best path," Sheinbaum adds. "High-level dialogue will help. It's good news that [the tariffs] are paused.

She says, however, that they've "saved" their "plan B" - in case tariffs do eventually happen - "for now".

fentanyl is more important than egg prices bro
It just reaks of him not having a plan, extorting our allies just to see what he can get out of it.

So he got something this time, but it doesn't really seem like a diplomatic way to go about things. Especially when it keeps millions of citizens from all countries confused as to wtf is going on.

Well, she likely does because countries typical try to work out integrative deals. Help each other now, help each other in the future, everyone is a winner.

Unfortunately, Trump doesn't really work that way. Either you give him something or he'll try to make you a loser. Only winners and losers.

Reverse not

Sorry you hate a major effort to secure the border and halt fentanyl
