5-1 is pretty impressive. Who los.... oh, never mind.If OSU wins it, that will be 2 NC in a row for the B1G and they were 5-1 against the SEC in this year's Bowl-Playoff matchups.

It was a close game, much closer than Ohio State's loss to Missouri last season.5-1 is pretty impressive. Who los.... oh, never mind.
Don't know who, but I know who I'd rather see win. The weekly memory of Beano's nonstop babbling about ND and the visual of Lou Holtz watering system when hyping ND has me leaning to osu. OK it's more than a lean. Not an osu fan but i hope it's not even close, Go BIG.Notre Dame is a team of destiny.
Those would not have been the rankings if it was a 4 team playoffIf we still only had a 4 team CFP, this match-up would not have happened because tOSU & Notre Dame would not have made the 4 team cut.

I am torn. I do root for ND...but not over the Hawks. Now, I normally root for the BIG, but man....I just don't care for OSU.#6 ranked Ohio State (8 seed in CFP)

Notre Dame is a team of destiny.
I am Irish, catholic and I hate these bums and I hope ND gets absolutely routedNotre Dame is a team of destiny.
It's not about how much one gets for "close". I was just lamenting that Iowa actually had a good chance to win the game and make it 6-0 for Big Ten. Not like last season when it was apparent that Iowa (and Ohio State without the quarterback) had no hope of winning their games.Remind me again how much you get for "close"?
What does close get us? Whoops, sorry, I just saw someone else just commented with the exact same thing. It was a close game, much closer than Ohio State's loss to Missouri last season.
Guys...It's all good! We had a chance to beat mighty Missouri in Nashville. It's not about how much one gets for "close". How do we know this exactly?physical slugfest is not what osu likes and that's what nd brings. biggest game of day's career. can he take the pressure? freeman we know can. game might well be osu-michigan part deux
Reason #2 is Lou HoltzBeano is reason #1 why I'll never cheer for the Irish.
So pretty much the only really good teams they played? Basically Iowa in 2015.....The Big Ten’s fourth place team to the Championship.
Also, Indiana’s only two losses were both on the road - to Ohio State and ND.
Jees.. Grump much? Why bother even being on here? I mean seriously?Agree. Piss on both of these freakin’ teams. How does respect for our league change the fact that we are a perennial irrelevant, mediocre also ran???
And may very well have saved Day's job had they lost in the first game if the playoffs.....Pretty impressive, imo, in how they circled the wagons, blocked out the outside noise and got to work after that massive home loss to Michigan.
the playoff games against georgia and psuHow do we know this exactly?
So Ohio St’s games against Oregon and Texas don’t reflect equal “able to take the pressure” for Day? I want to know why you distinguish between the two, putting Freeman in the ‘yes’ category and Day in the ‘maybe/will he?’.the playoff games against georgia and psu
that said i do think osu is the better team
his repeated losses to his biggest rival michigan. this year he lost at home against a far inferior mi in what at the time was a must win type situation. he had everything lined up -- a home game, a better team -- only problem imo he couldn't handle pressureSo Ohio St’s games against Oregon and Texas don’t reflect equal “able to take the pressure” for Day? At least he didn't lose to Northern Illinois.his repeated losses to his biggest rival michigan. this year he lost at home against a far inferior mi in what at the time was a must win type situation. he had everything lined up -- a home game, a better team -- only problem imo he couldn't handle pressure
day is a decent coach. yes he beat a good texas team in a close game to his credit, as for oregon he got a second shot at them which makes a difference. he might well pull it off against nd but his mi losses are the question mark
Ohio State - Oregon game was for the natty this year.If we still only had a 4 team CFP, this match-up would not have happened because tOSU & Notre Dame would not have made the 4 team cut.

It’s definitely a northern game!
Me too with all of this
It might be a looong time before we see a team win a natty that’s not from the B1G.How will the SEC and EsecPN spin this if the B1G Conference claims the National Championship 2 seasons in a row?

I think you would be much happier joining the fanbase of either team. Being a hawk fan is too disappointing for you.ND plays tough, physical football. They have an outstanding, aggressive, confident young coach. I think Ohio State wins, but it won't be easy. As much as I detest Notre Dame, I have great respect for the way they play and the way they're coached. Yes, I'm jealous, sorry to admit.
Or, a team of density? 😉Notre Dame is a team of destiny.
