Wait. Trump is hiring a Fox News host as Secretary of Defense?

Dude, it's almost 10 pm for me, i'm not devoting 2 hours to it. I'm not even arguing that he was a good soldier, and leader at the small unit level. That doesn't even begin to compare to the skillset needed to run the DoD.

But go ahead and keep projecting about why you think I won't watch it.
Nah man. Its all good. I get it, people are busy, no sweat. Sometime, if you get a chance, give it a shot. Its a good watch.

Tom you are gonna bitch about it no matter who he picks. You will be on here tomorrow complaining about another one of his picks. Your party sucks, your team got crushed in this election, deal with it. You supported the POS cabinet that Biden put together which was simply the most diverse group ever, they didn’t even try for qualified. So why don’t you sit the F out for the next for years
You’re a clown.

Hang on - haven't you been telling us for years that Obama was a bad president...so what do his qualifications mean?

There is a MASSIVE difference between leading a single platoon and running a department that employs MILLIONS.
So when Biden selected a person to run HHS because they were trans or be the head of communications for the WH because they were a lesbian of color, or a VP because of God knows what, these were proper qualifications?

No. Those were “brave choices”. And ones he constantly bragged about. Not because they were good choices but because they were “inclusive”. Inclusivity is what is causing our military to lower bars for becoming rangers and Seals. Some of these appointments are a push back against all that shit.

So…no concerns that this guy has never held any administrative post or worked in the government at all?

I’d agree his basic resume isn’t the worst compared to some…but for secretary of defense?

Weird to see people saying this is a great pick when he’s lacking in the experience realm.
We were close to having Tim Walz as VP, one heartbeat from Commander in Chief. I'm not concerned about this being a bad pick, he's got an ivy league education, he's battle tested, understands mission readiness.

So we agree? I didn't say anything about his first term appointments, but I cover that in another post.

During this phase, the other side argues every pick is terrible. That's how it works. Both parties do it, and it's difficult for any human to stand up to that level of scrutiny. So be it.

Opinions will be what they are.

Man, you're a jewel. Equating the Orange POS to any other president. I'm content to see how much rope you MAGAs will give him before you admit membership in his Cult is too much.

It's 100% about trolling the Left and gloating about the election results.

Imagine if roles were reversed and Biden was appointing these numpties?

And Id bet a million dollars that if you asked our special operators, they'd be thrilled with this pick. Maybe even orgasmic.

Biden wouldn't be nominating bulletheads like this.

No PRESIDENT has ever nominated this low quality of Mickey Mouse bozos. Not even Orange Turd 1.01.
At this point, it's beyond comical.

But as Trump 1 proved...highly capable people won't work under the Donald.
So the only options are the choices we're seeing.

Are you kidding? They will NEVER admit that. EVER. He could have them lined up in front of a firing squad and they'd be penciling his name in on their ballots before he shot them. They're f'n idiots.

I haven't seen it mentioned, but, of course Hegseth cheated on his second wife with a co-worker, and had a kid with her. This paragon of family values, with the Christian nationalist tattoos has been married 3 times, and loves Jesus so much he had to put his penis inside a woman who wasn't his wife.

So the bright side is he'll be fired promptly if it isn't working.
He would only be fired if he gets on the wrong side of Trump. Competency has nothing to do with it.

Most of the guardrails that restrained Trump’s first administration are gone now or have already proven to be ineffectual. Most of these do not function by rote operation of law but instead rely on individuals acting with honor and integrity. Qualities that seem to be in short supply these days.

He was on the Shawn Ryan show right before the election. I didn’t know he was down to the final two candidates for the position of US Department of Veteran affairs under Trump.

For this particular appointment, if you were preparing a job listing, what would your requirements be?
In peacetime. what are the day-to-day duties of the SecDef?
In times of war, what are the additional day-to-day duties?

I'm guessing once Trump found out that this guy was charged with sexual abuse/harassment...and then paid off the multiple victims with a NDA...that cinched his nomination.

Birds of a feather and stuff.

Thsi will be a very solid SecDef. And he gets confirmed.

I'm sure all you naysayers will tune in to the confirmation hearings right?

Let's put aside his Christian nationalist leanings, and his rapey behavior.
Who thinks a guy best suited to wear a ball cap backwards and do pod casts will effectively lead an organization with well over 2 million people under him?
