Do we not have anyone on the team or on campus that are better than Pemsl and Evelyn? Kriener has seriously regressed the last 4 games too.

Even Nebraska’s walk-ons look like starters.

I don’t think any team has a shorter or weaker bench than Iowa. It’s very frustrating because we could be a great team rather than a good team.

I could be wrong but short/weak bench could have something to do with Nunge, Bohannon, and Patrick McCaffery being done for the season.

Kriener had 9 pts and 4 rb and an assist last night in 19 minutes. He had a solid game.

Kriener not hitting his 3pt shots recently....he's not a high volume 3pt shooter so hot and cold streaks are gonna happen...when he is making them, that is extra juice for the team.

I think Riley Till should be getting more minutes, just because the bench is short and he plays decent defense and doesn't make many mistakes.

JFC. We lost Bohannon, Nunge and PMac. That isn't exactly like coach intentionally wanted a short bench. Find something legitimate to bitch about.

It's not possible to regress in 4 games.

I was 1-1 on 3pointers in my intramural basketball college career. I should have walked on. I was wearing flipflops and a hotdog costume also (no joke)

With the depleted bench, and Fran's tendency to be a bit stubborn, what really can he do anyway? His substitutions have been pretty much exactly the same every game. Evelyn for Toussant first. Then Kreiner comes in and plays with Garza. Then Pemsl subs for Garza. Then we score no points for about 3 minutes, then he starts bringing the starters back in. He doesn't have much to work with these days except throw Till in there hope he gets some production from him.

Yeah the only complaint I would have is Fran tries to get by with Wieskamp, Garza and Frederick out at the same time between the 12 and 8 minute mark in the first half. I get he's trying to maximize all 3 are on the floor so he tries to just gut through a 4 minute stretch where the best Iowa can do is stay even or lose just a little ground. But then you have nights like Purdue where the score goes from 14 to 20+ in the blink of an eye. It would be huge if Toussaint or Evelyn could have a game or 2 if one or both made some shots.

yes, thats the times when it gets really bad. Though most of the time he does leave Weiskamp or Fredirick out there.

Threw in a hook shot at Carver from halfcourt in the early 2000s. While tailgating in the Dental lot for FB, went into Carver to the bathroom. Rack of balls on the side of the floor, ran down the steps for 1 half court shot and drilled it. Really has nothing to do with the topic, but figured I’d share

Bad Fran. Why didn't you have 3 more good players to replace all 3 of the injured guys?

If Nunge and Pat didn't get lost for the season, then Iowa has a very solid bench.

Nunge is likely starting at PF, moving Connor to point and Toussaint, Kriener and Pat rotating in.

That made me laugh because it's true.

Theres often 2 or 3 turnovers in that stretch.

It's a double edged sword though because Iowa starting lineup is better at the 1 and 4 with Connor sliding down.

But no depth whatsoever.

If Pat and Jack could just replace Pemsl and Evelyn's minutes it would be great.
