WBB Recruiting 2017 and On

North beat Assumption 78-63 last night.

Jinaya Houston with 25 points and GREAT all around game.

Once again junior 6-1 forward/center Paige Bradford with huge game 28 points.

Tonight 8:30 North vs Rock Islands Beal, should be fun one to watch.

Halftime Rocks 35 -25 over North. Beal taking over, what a player she is.Jinaya also looking good. Blows me away how well built Beal is, she looks strong as hell and unstoppable one on one.

Beal, Carr show to much for North.Rocks win. Carr is freaking for real also. 65-54 have no stats sorry

Beal 32 points 9 boards, just flat out Dominance.
Houston 21 points 5 steals, smooth, great player.
Carr 18 points, she's tough to guard.

The Three of them in black and gold would be unreal dream. {:)

Here is a post by Oakhawk taken from the previous recruiting thread...

ESPN article on Breanna Beal

Skyrocketing sophomore Breanna Beal has always aimed higher

Iowa was her first offer...im 6th grade. But now she is talking UCONN. Another one to the evil empire?

In it Breanna is quoted expressing interest in Stanford. I also remember reading something in another article about her admiration for former Rock Island standout and Stanford graduate Chassan Randle. She was also quoted in this article as admiring UConn. It appears that getting her to Iowa will be an 'uphill battle'.

Houston had 23 and 13 last night against North Scott. Much more aggressive game from her.

In what is believed to be the first EVER in-game dunk from a girl in Colorado high school basketball history, the 15-year-old threw down a thunderous one-handed slam Friday night.

Regis basketball breakout star Francesca Belibi takes flight

Since the dunk, Belibi's basketball stock is soaring [...]. More than 210 college coaches reached out to Mattei after seeing the video of her dunk.

After her dunk: Catching up with Regis Jesuit instant star Francesca Belibi

Belibi
says she wants to play college basketball -- she likes Notre Dame, Stanford and Princeton at the moment -- and aspires to be a pediatrician like her mother.

Regis Jesuit girls basketball star Fran Belibi transforming the game with dunks, above-the-rim athleticism

Belibi, then a freshman, had never played basketball. But with obvious leaping ability and a lean, 6-foot-1 frame, Mattei convinced her to try out for his team come basketball season. Belibi [... has] a 27-inch vertical jump, a 6-foot-8 wingspan and hands that can easily palm a men’s basketball, Mattei knew he was witnessing something special.

Monika Czinano 2018 6’3” Minnesota Fury Blue
From the Simply the Best review

Big body post that moves well without the ball that did a lot of damage on the low block. Monika showed good hands, footwork and a soft touch on scoring on either side of the rim and is a very good passer from the high post where she made several good entry passes for easy scoring opportunities. Defensively she gets good position that will contest every shot making it very difficult for her opponent to get easy looks.
From Prospect Nation
Class of 2018 post Monika Czinano of Watertown, Minn., is a definite must-track prospect. She showed an array of skills that project well to the next level. Standing at 6-3 she has the makings of productive back to the basket post at the collegiate level.

Lisa Bluder and Jan Jensen were at Monika's game Friday night and got the verbal.

Monika shows her footwork throwing the discus. She is also a shot putter.

Nice to see them recruiting more players with a little size for the post. She'll get to learn from Megan Gustafson for a year too which will be helpful. Haven't seen Monika ranked on any of the usual recruiting services yet.

Monika seems to be coming on strong, especially on the offensive end. The year with Megan, (and Jan Jensen's instruction), plus another year and a half of HS, should have her ready for college. She has the size. If she has Megan's work ethic she will be fine.

The Fury will be bringing a number of talented athletes to North Carolina this year. The 2019 squad, which is coached by Storm, will feature McKenna Hofschild (5-2, PG, 2019) and Taylor McAulay (5-11, G, 2019). The 2018 unit, which will be guided by Tim Peper, will be paced by Monika Czinano (6-3, P, 2018) and Summer Blakemore (5-7, CG, 2018).

“McKenna is a dynamic, left-handed point guard. She is as athletic and quick as any player you are going to find,” Storm said. “McKenna is also a very good shooter. Taylor can hit the deep three, and she is very aggressive going to the basket. She is a good athlete with very good skills, and she is a very good defender. Taylor has long arms, and she gets a lot of deflections.

“Monika is a true post player who really likes to play down on the block. She has very good hands and feet, and she knows her role. Summer is a very good three-point shooter, and she can attack the basket. I really think Summer could play for a Power 5 team if she found the right fit.”

Watertown-Mayer 90, Glencoe-Silver Lake 79. Tied 38-all after the first half, Class 2A, No. 5 Watertown-Mayer scored 52 points in the second half to emerge victorious. Monika Czinano and Claire Killian led the Royals with 28 and 25 points, respectively. Miah Monahan paced Blencoe-Silver Lake with 22 points, while Maddie Monahan posted 21.

Jinaya Houston chances for state run not looking good as of today ankle still swollen pretty bad.

Jinaya was back, and played a little in each quarter. Ended with 4 points and 7 rebounds.
Monika Czinano scored 27 to help her team come from down 16 in the 2nd half to win the conference title.

Doyle is so fun to watch. She plays more like a guy than even Logic did.

Her potential is huge.
