Welcome to the bubble Hawkeyes!

Now things get interesting. We still need to beat PAY on senior day Sunday. Enjoy this get some rest and get right back to work

This was huge! We have to beat PSU obviously, but that won't help our RPI. (Call it bs if you want, but that's what they look at) And then I think we need to make the big10 final, to even have a shot. But I think we did punch our NIT ticket tonight.

I think a win over PSU and one win in the tourney will do it. Win 3 and it's a no doubter we are in.

If the committee holds "true" to their word then top 50 wins is the key.

As long as your SOS isn't over 100, you will be fine. There are some teams who have SOS in the 40's and 50s with only 1 top 50 win. That's not gonna cut it when teams have 5-6 wins over top 50.

Hawkeyes gonna need 21 wins to make it to Big Dance.

21 for sure 20 would make it interesting. Think if we win Sunday and 2 in big 10 tourney we will be biting our nails on selection Sunday. Though I guess lot depends on what other bubble teams do.

Wonder how much consideration committe puts on team that's hot right now vs a team struggling down the stretch with the bubble.

I feel like if iowa and Illinois win their last game and we play in 8-9 gamr, winner is the 8th big ten team at a play-in game. If winner wins 2nd game, in for sure

Iowa has to win four more to just have a shot? Beat PSU, OSU, and then Wisconsin/Purdue again and Iowa will have a "shot". It also depends on other bid stealers as well

Just curious, how much does other teams' shifting RPIs matter to ours? For example if ISU does well in their tournament raising their RPI, does that help us much?

Help? yes, much? Depends

RPI is driven almost more by who your opponents beat than who you beat

Minnesota screw job and loss to Nebraska-Omaha is looming large right now fellas. I think two more wins and Iowa is in the play in game - 3 more and they're solidly in the field.

Closing out the season:

MSU plays @MD
NU plays PU at home
MI plays @NE

A win vs PSU could put Iowa in a 3 or 4 way tie for 5th in the BT standings at 10-8
And I think we'd have the 7 seed in the tourney regardless of the other outcomes
(had we pulled out those OT road games at NE and MN, this team would've had a shot at 12-6!)

Need to win that last home game though.

In any event, Iowa has clearly played itself into a postseason bid; for a while there it was looking bleak if they'd even have a shot at that.

Team defense has been looking VERY good the past few games. Shutting Wisconsin down for many minutes at a time, and to close out the last several minutes of the game is NOT an easy thing to do- that is a veteran team we shut down tonight.

If hawks beat psu, then indiana/Ohio state, then Wisconsin (most likely), we have a good frickin chance to sneak in. Need Illinois to lose

Damn this bubble is weak! California one of the last teams "in" is getting spanked by Utah 68-36.

Cal's resume is BAD (RPI 52 vs Top 50 1-7, 51-100 3-1 and 100+ 9-1). They beaten NOBODY and are getting housed on the road at Utah.

If they lose Saturday at Colorado they are OUT

Another Team Providence Resume (RPI 55 vs Top 50 6-7, 51-100 4-1, 100+ 9-3). 2 Losses to team in the RPI 200+. I realize they have the wins vs the top 50, but everyone is dawning Iowa losing to UNO. This team lost to 2 teams above 200 in the RPI.

In theory, if we get some help by teams we've beaten raising their RPI and taking care of business on our end, I think getting to the BTT semis could do it assuming we beat either Wisky or Minnesota to get there.
