Welcome to the bubble Hawkeyes!

Closing out the season:

MSU plays @MD
NU plays PU at home
MI plays @NE

A win vs PSU could put Iowa in a 3 or 4 way tie for 5th in the BT standings at 10-8
And I think we'd have the 7 seed in the tourney regardless of the other outcomes
(had we pulled out those OT road games at NE and MN, this team would've had a shot at 12-6!)

Need to win that last home game though.

In any event, Iowa has clearly played itself into a postseason bid; for a while there it was looking bleak if they'd even have a shot at that.

Team defense has been looking VERY good the past few games. Shutting Wisconsin down for many minutes at a time, and to close out the last several minutes of the game is NOT an easy thing to do- that is a veteran team we shut down tonight.
7 regulation points away from a chance at 13-5!

Omaha is the anchor for sure. 3 more wins and I firmly believe the hawks will make the tourney.

If hawks beat psu, then indiana/Ohio state, then Wisconsin (most likely), we have a good frickin chance to sneak in. Need Illinois to lose

Not really; we're likely to end up tied with MI in the standings, and a game ahead of Illinois. If NE upsets MI at home, then MI and IL will be tied at 9-9, one game behind Iowa.

MI/IL will play in the 8/9 seed game (opening BT tourney), and the loser will likely stay home. No way both of them get a spot. And, arguably, the BT will only take 7 teams to the tourney, possibly 8, but no way 9.

NU, PU, WI, MD, MN locks. MSU likely bubble. MI, IL & IA, bubble. Lose your first round BTT game and your bubble pops.

I feel like if iowa and Illinois win their last game and we play in 8-9 gamr, winner is the 8th big ten team at a play-in game. If winner wins 2nd game, in for sure

It looks like the 8-9 game will be Illinois and Michigan, and that will likely be an elimination game, with the winner and Iowa competing for the 7th bid for the B1G. Don't see the B1G getting 8 teams in.

We replaced Houston (not necessarily in that order) in the Next Four Out. Houston is done and Iowa is somewhere in the Next Four Out category, I have yet to see a graphic with Lunardi's official S-curve.

Hey Glans81,

Nice blowout loss! Reminded me of the 35-point loss to NU at NU.

22-10! How about them apples! Have fun at the NIT!

Haven't seen your dumbass on this board, ever? I can't remember which one you are: The fat phuck with the football jersey in your pic or the ugly ginger?
