I got the 30-day big ten plus back in November to carry me through this month. BTN has a triple header today with MSU, Purdue and Indiana, so Iowa was the odd team out apparently. It's a way for BTN to push some subscriptions and presents a better option than radio to the fans.
BTN plus gives you the option to choose an Iowa sports option and pay less than full access, which is nice. I wish they would offer this as part of cable, DirecTV or streaming as a single channel add or a BIG premium bundle. I suspect it would be part of a broader package of yoga, cooking, reality tv channels and cost $30.00 like everything else.

also if the snow comes in this afternoon into the evening that is predicted I will say it will be a ghost town in Carver tonight.
I have been to 3 games this year and they have all been ghost towns. I am not going to get into the Carver debate, but suffice to say the Carver environment would not be a draw if I were a visiting recruit. Hopefully attendance picks up with conference play, but I am not holding my breath. Some on here complain about fans at CHA not making noise and standing--I get it, but at least they showed up. Hell, half the people on my bus to the SE LA game were 65+.
Illini game cancelled so thought we might get Iowa in the open slot but they picked wisky instead...damn!
Money grab. They could use their spillover channels for these situations instead of making people buy another subscription.
Exactly my plan.....hopefully canceling isn't a frustrating and difficult process.

It appears that I will be able to watch it on the FOX sports app on my computer. If that's the case I can hook it up to my TV with an HDMI cable.
I've done it multiple years and never had a problem cancelling. I'm guessing it will be the same this year as well.
I signup though the website (for Iowa only) and then use the app (firestick) for viewing. Will probably cancel through website.
You might want to double check that because what I'm seeing is it's on the BIG+. I guess I've never tried to see if the Fox Sports app has the ability to stream BIG+.
I don't suppose anyone knows where to 'stumble' across a free BTN+ stream around the interwebz, do they? I know there were sites like that out there a few years ago, but didn't really need it last season to watch Iowa play so didn't bother to check.

It's year 11 (12?) of the BTN, the spillover channel is ONLY FOR FOOTBALL. always has been, always will be.
I’d even be okay if they let you stream the game for free on BTN+ with your cable service provider log in.
Had BTN+ for November. Signing up and canceling was pretty easy with the phone and ITunes. The hard part was finding the actual game on their app and I only did the Iowa version.

As long as you paid for BTN+ then it sounds like the Fox app will stream it.
I have a subscription to YTTV, which gets me to the Fox sports app where the game will be played - at least on my computer app. I'm watching live TV on FOX sports right now.
I guess we'll find out at 7:00.
I'm just not interested enough in watching them play these low end teams to make the effort to set up yet another service.
As for CHA, I would expect this to be about the deadest of the dead when it comes to in person attendance. Not only are students gone, who really contribute little to the total anyway, but many people are likely gone on their mini winter vacation before the long slog that is getting through Jan-Feb-March in Iowa.
If it's not an easy win it's not a game that I would want to watch, let alone pay additionally for the privilege.

That would be great...much better picture quality. When I open up the Fox Sports app on my tv, it doesn't show the Iowa game as one of the upcoming tonight on its tv schedule. Who knows but it would be nice if it is.
Well, just watching to see if it works. Right now Michigan St is playing High Point.
It could be that MSU and High Point is airing on BTN. Iowa WIU is on BTN+. BTN+ will require an additional subscription.
I wish that was wrong, but I don’t think it is.
Just logged into the BTN+ website and went to My Account, from there selected "Unsubscribe" and a reason, and it was done. Really easy.
Thank you for that...I tried doing it on my phone last night and had no luck...very frustrating. Will try the website later today.
You might have to switch your browser to desktop mode. if you're using chrome you just hit the three dots in the top right corner and check the, "desktop site," box.
I got on the computer and logged into the account and it was pretty simple.....not so much on the phone. Thanks to each of you that offered up suggestions to help.
