What just happened with my panthers?

I agree with the thought the MVC tournament needs to move from St. Louis. That city sucks on almost every metric a city should be based on.

What a hell hole, second only to Chicago in the Midwest.
Kansas City is light years ahead of StL in almost every respect, and has been for some time. Why not have it there?

Got some bad news for you....due to the fact that's where the people are most real cities are liberal and have covid rules. Are you saying the bten should bail from Indy? That Des Moines should forfeit future NCAA bids? I don't think rural county fairgrounds would be great hosts for these things, even if there are no inconvenient covid regulations
Did you just attempt to defend/justify the crap that most big cities have put their people through for decades....especially in the last year?? Got some bad news for you: there's a reason why people who can are leaving these $#itholes in droves.

Sorry for misinterpreting.

have to disagree on the Drake win not helping though... win the whole thing and it doesn’t matter.

No worries. I have made not nice comments about UNI in the past but I was honestly just joking in this instance. I do feel really bad that COVID denied the Panthers from an opportunity to have a shot at the dance.

Once again; the UNI fans (especially those who traveled to St. Louis) but all fans really and the UNI players & staff (who also traveled to St. Louis I might add) deserved the chance to compete for 3 days to see if they could pull it off.

Let me ask you this; how do you think the Iowa players, fans, staff would react in that situation - or is that only an outrage because we finished in the upper tier of our conference?

How’s St Louis treating you? Are you going to get a refund since the game was canceled?

I didn’t, nor ever have, attended the MVC tournament. I do feel for the fans, staff, and players who attended but I’m sure there will be no reparations aside from the game ticket refund.

They won’t move it from STL since that’s where the conference’s office is located

Oh, I'm still salty about it for sure. That was an absolute travesty.

Also, UNI is irrelevant and an easy target to make fun of with their fanbase. Sorry not sorry.
The game where a school with no money managed to bribe ncaa officials, one official being somebody that has worked final four games. Uni managed to pay them enough to risk everything the had built up in their careers to give the to the panthers.

yup. Never forget.

or Fran is a hothead thst can’t handle anything.

Yeah, I never said the officials were bribed.

It was just a horrendously officiated game and the calls determined the outcome unlike just about every other college basketball game I've ever seen. That's the travesty. Not UNI cheating or any other shady stuff, just a really poorly officiated game in a cracker box gym.

That is not the point. They worked hard and probably sacrificed all year to make it to this point. They deserved better than some liberal city having different or more strict rules than the conference end their season.
Cry me a conservative river. Those strict rules are keeping the other teams safe. If Iowa gets a COVId case because of a Nebraska player, ill be pissed. If you ask me, all of these conferences tournaments should be abbreviated to exclude the bottom dwellers, they have little incentive to follow protocols and are just a risk to the good teams.

Considering all of Nebraska had it, doubt that happens. The STL protocol is overreach.

The conference didn’t communicate the city’s policy so NO one knew this would be an issue. It was also a false positive.

Feel badly for the players. They've struggled all season and this was a shot, albeit a minute one, of making the NCAA Tournament.

UNI timeline of futility
2016-Largest meltdown in NCAA history
2019-Largest blown lead ever in MVC Championship game
2020-First 1 seed to lose to 8 seed
2021-Picked to finish first in MVC. End up in Thursday game. Then have season cancelled with false negative.

For what they pay Jacobsen, the results have left a lot to be desired. Especially considering he only got Green because his dad is on the staff.
