When is a triple-double not a triple-double?

It's when you have a 59 point lead & your coach puts you & the other starters back in just so you can pad the stats. You can poke a baby in the eye and call it child care but it doesn't make it so.

It was a little cheap, but I'm glad they did it for him. They should have just put him back in though, because all he needed was 1 rebound when they took him out with 12 minutes to go in the game.

He played a whopping 22 minutes. I'd venture to guess that many triple doubles are against poor teams and had a little specific effort to do so. Granted, it would be better if he had no clue about it and it was against Kansas.

The good news is there was a big deal made of Iowa State getting Donovan Jackson and how Iowa "Settled' for Jordan Bohannon.

Jackson so far: 17.3 mpg, 5 ppg, 8 assists, 3 turnovers. .333 fg, .400 ft, .143 3 pt. And this is a junior.
Bohannon so far: 21.3 mpg, 5 ppg, 19 assists, 8 turnovers. .238 fg, .833 ft, .294 3 pt. freshmen

I'm just a dimwit for arguing with CyCity a year ago, but which looks like the better get now? I'd say the opportunity to be a solid four year guy and develop well is in our hands. Jackson? Maybe he has a good year behind Morris? Maybe. And maybe he starts next year but with Wigginton coming in ya gotta wonder.

I'm just a black and gold Kool-Aid drinker but maybe Williams and Bohannon are going to be alright after all?

Neither one looks that good. I'm not sure it's an argument worth having at this point. Jackson is also still getting back up to speed after an injury, so who knows.

One of those players that you compared had a broken wrist. I wouldn't want Bohannon for 4 years because he would take a scholarship for too long.

Yeah I wouldn't be so quick to talk. Jackson wasn't fully cleared from his wrist injury until late summer and it is still bothering him. And Iowa did settle for Bohannon.

Trying to converse with DanL about ISU vs. Iowa comparisons is like banging your head into a brick wall.

Where's the exterminator? I think ISU fans can outlive the roaches, proof is in this thread on an IA board.

Posting about how great IA State is on an IA board is imbecilic.
I do not believe anyone was posting how great ISU is. I would be interested to see the post where that happened. Once again, it appears Iowa fans are encapsulated with the goings on with the ISU basketball program. Especially DanL, who took to spending the time to compare the stats of an ISU reserve guard with that of a reserve Iowa guard. No offense, but I would classify that as "IMBECILLIC" Maybe you need to take a reading course at the local junior college.

Why don't all you clowns go back to CyFan where you can brag about how you defended your team and schooled those foolish Iowa fans? Even those of you who occasionally post thoughtful comments on here take a decidedly different attitude when you are safely among your own (and you know who you are!).

At least I was talking basketball. On a basketball board. A Hawkeye basketball board. I guess to you that probably does seem, let's all shout together, "IMBECILLIC".

I think I'll just consider the source and not stoop to your level. Here's a nice article by that great ISU fan, Randy Peterson.

Why aren't Iowa State fans over here bragging about how they've got a guy suspended? But, more info. Here is another article, from July, where Jackson is rehabbing, taking three point shots. When did he break the wrist? Like, January? He says back in July he expects to be fully cleared to play ball in September? That's two months ago already.

Well, all I can do is echo Peterson's statement, just wait! Seventh best Juco Guard in the country. Dang I remember Trey Dickerson was a Juco All-American!

I guess I could explain that having to read Iowa State fans on here a year ago last summer yacking about how Jordan Bohannon was a "fall back". A fall back we offered in August? That kind of intrusive ragging on Iowa has caused me to pay a little attention this year to your guy. And of course, our guy. I'm interested to see how this all turns out.

Last thing. I don't feel like a long rant where I dissect your intelligence, motives, manners and all sorts of nasty stuff. So, just consider yourself to have trolled me really, really good and go brag about it with your State buddies. I don't care.

(Quick shout out to the fantastic people at the UIHC, remarkable what you did for Pemsl!)

It probably doesn't make a lot of sense to argue about Bohannon and Jackson this early in their D1 careers.

PS - There is a very recent story about Jackson's troubles with his wrist. It's healed but his flexibility isn't where it needs to be. You'd actually know more if you ignored Randy Pete than by reading him.

But I digress and redirect you to my first sentence.

I can see that argument. On the other hand, Morris only played 22 minutes.

You are RIGHT, why were you and CyCity on here 14 months ago discussing whether Bohannon was a "fall back" recruit, and how Iowa missed on Jackson? ;) So I also direct you to your first sentence.

Never discussed Bohannon on this forum. Delusional much? So who was I when I posted this 14 months ago?

Are you Cydkar? Why are you responding when I was clearly directing my post to him. You see, that's why his post is in quotes. That's how it works. Who were you 14 months ago? Wait! Don't answer, in about three seconds you'll be on ignore.

Did Fred or Prohm recruit Bohannon? I don't recall hearing about it, and I assumed that because of geography and history, he wasn't going to be interested in ISU.

Fred basically stopped recruiting for ISU about four years ago so I would highly doubt he recruited Bohannon.

Was I? I don't recall caring. To be fair, I post about things I don't care about.
