Sounds like they are both going to be 4-stars and Iowa, Wisconsin, and Nebraska are going all in on them. I am hoping Iowa can snag one or both out of Omaha?

If Henrich doesn't pick Iowa...I don't think he will go to Nebby or Wisconsin. Just a feeling I have. No evidence.

It would be a big time coup to get both. Nick Henrich will be a blue blood level guy. Somehow I dont feel like his dad playing tennis here at Iowa is going to help us get him. I also havent seen anything about Hickman indicating much interest in Iowa lately. We need the visitor list for next Saturday to get some idea of interest.
Why wouldn't his dad being an Iowa grade help Iowa's cause? Also, if Henrich cares at all about academics than Iowa beats out Nebraska too.
Just a hunch I get as Henrich gets offers like Florida, Penn State and Notre Dame. Frosts' Hype machine is rolling in the home state so thats a factor.
Bits and pieces I have read is that Frost is putting a major emphasis on not losing Nebraska kids and rebuilding the walk on program, so no doubt they will get a lot more attention than previous staffs have given in Nebraska. I would think a dad graduating from Iowa would help us though.
I think his Mom also went to Iowa. Nick grew up rooting for the Hawks. I think we have a great chance getting this young man. Hickman will be harder to pull out of Omaha.

The fact that his parents are Iowa alumni and that he grew up a Hawkeye fan will weigh hugely in his decision. Ask AJ why he chose Iowa.
I agree that his parents should push him to do what he wants, but hopefully he was brainwashed a hawk..
If they don't pick Iowa, at the very least don't pick Nebraska instead.
I sure hope we do sit in good position with Henrich. As for Hickman, if he isnt interested I sure hope they can snag Erick All. Very solid prospect.

Not sure I follow. AJ was a 5 star and could have secured a scholly to any school in the country. He chose Iowa because of his father.
You're both on the same page, but you're interpreting it differently. AJ was free to choose whichever college he wanted to go to, his parents wouldn't have stopped him. AJ chose Iowa, because his parents were Iowa fans which is why he was a fan of Iowa as well.
I gotta think Fant's success will get Hickman's attention!
There is a know-it-all Alabama poster on the Soundoff board that will argue all day that the Alabama coaches visited AJ in his home just hours after the dead period ended only to tell him that he should look somewhere else because he wasn't a fit there and his offer wasn't committable.

Not sure I totally agree Herk. I don't think it hurts a child to have the parents nudge them along the way. I know many successful children who followed in their parent's foot steps.
I believe in Nick's case and certainly in AJ's case following the Hawks as a child and being a fan can impact decisions. Only time will tell.

It's not bad parenting to let your kids pick the school they grew up cheering for. AJ did that, he couldn't see himself playing for anyone else. Hopefully that's the case with Nick.

That’s a good thing! I recently read Nick’s mother went to Iowa State and grew up in Minnesota, do not follow in any of those footsteps young man!
I’ve posted several times but all last year the only thing Nick wanted in life was an offer to play football for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Whether that is changing with all of the offers he’s received I can’t say. My kid doesn’t see him as much this year and doesn’t believe me that he owes it to Hawkeye Report to get answers. His mom does not like Iowa but if that’s where he chose she would support him. She really is a great mom. His dad would be ecstatic. Suffice it to say that neither Chris nor Nick grew up as your typical Husker fans. Neither dreamed of playing for the Huskers. So the messiah will have a tougher time saving them.
Can anyone tell me what junior day consists of? Nick had labrum surgery in November. So if he would have to work out not sure he would make it. Just a heads up so no one freaks out if that’s the case.

Given how the eligibility of Iowa's LBs are setting up AND given how much (and how effectively) Iowa uses its TEs ... hopefully the Hawks land BOTH Nick and Chris!
Of course, as much as I love the Hawks ... Wisconsin can do a pretty good sell on their use of TEs too. But given the absurd production that Noah Fant has put up ... hopefully that sways Chris. It's not often that you see a college TE who gets that many TD receptions!
Don't forget Iowa already had a tight end in this class aswell..
To my knowledge, junior days are just visits and tour of facilities. No workouts. Those come in the one-day camps, etc later in summer. Injury shouldnt be issue if he is available to attend.
True, Lee is a TE in the '19 class. However, if you look at his film, he looks a bit more like a traditional in-line TE (albeit, with above-average athleticism). I'm excited about Lee ... but largely because I think that he's going to be an awesome blocker for us (he'll get his touches too). However, the advantage that Hickman has is that, not unlike Fant and Beyer, he's a guy who can run a bit more like a WR. Consequently, that makes him a much bigger match-up problem when LBs line up on him. On the flip side, due to his height ... that makes him a difficult match-up for safeties and CBs (particularly once he physically develops).
I get a similar feeling about Lee. He will catch some balls and be effective doing so, but going forward Iowa always needs a bounty of his style of TE as well as Fant style guys. What a potent combo! We need a second TE for the class and he needs to be a guy like Fant. The Hybrid WR/TE is a must for our program.
Nebraska has a nation-leading 70 CoSIDA First Team Academic All-Americans and this is just football Nation Leading and leads the nation in total for all Athletics at 330 CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All Americans including 9 Top Vlll award winners just in Football which is also nation leading and a grand total overall 17 NCAA's Top Ten Award recipients which leads the nation as well, and 3 Draddy Trophy winners(Academic Heisman) Plus 2 in the CoSIDA Academic All-America Hall Of Fame. You must be outta your mind to spout crap like that. If He's looking at Academics as an athlete, Nebraska is where he will go...Just sayin'
