World Peace

crudely worded like many of his proclamations but this one is in context of civilian hostages held for years by brutes and is directed at hamas

To be fair I honestly don't have an issue with this.

Hamas agreed to release the hostages in the ceasefire. They have released some but not all.

It needs to be made very clear to them that there are consequences for their attacks upon civilians..

I hate that because I am sure it will lead to more innocent casualties. But Israel should not simply accept them holding onto hostages.

There needs to be a line in the sand, release them by the end of this week or suffer the consequences.

I think they already know about the consequences. Deaths on Gaza are likely grossly underreported. Israel has even sniped kids. Now Israel is setting up bases in the West Bank. The US just sent them 4 billion more in arms over the weekend and circumvented Congress to do it. The US has greenlighted them using 2000 pound bombs we gave them. We wouldn't even use those in Iraq because the civilian damage was too much.

People will look back on this period with absolute disgust and that will reflect directly on the US. These are historic atrocities.

I feel like we care about the civilians in Gaza more than Hamas does.

They have a ceasefire but are violating it forcing Israel to counter. Than HAMAS uses this to maintain hatred for Israel.

Neither side really wants peace.

That's probably true, but Israel has also only lost a few hundred soldiers since the campaign started in 2023. The bulk of Israel's casualties were still the October 7th attack. How effective Hamas is at this point is very questionable. These negotiations feel more like posturing for more attacks from Israel. I hope I'm wrong but this all feels predictable especially with the movement towards West Bank and America beating their chest.

Israel is going to make the world more unsafe as this will be a rallying call for insurgent groups.

1. We do.
2. There aren't really many civilians in Gaza. The way the "civilians" cheer hostage taking and propaganda, as well as the fact that when polled most support Hamas...we'll to me that removes the innocence from the term "civilian." Hamas non-militants?

Always good to lump everyone together so much it makes killing them seem justified.

A huge issue IMO is how Hamas uses human shields.

They literally embed in hospitals and schools knowing civilians will be killed. They're the worst.

That being said, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has no solution, I think.

That's the Israeli talking point isn't it. Maybe, just maybe the country that has bombed aid and refuge camps also bombs schools and hospitals.

It's totally true. Hamas has been using human shields for a long time. It's part of their strategy to turn public opinion over to their side.

FTR that's a neocon think tank.

I've seen videos of Hamas embedded in hospitals and schools. They shot rockets from them into Israel.

It was on MSNBC and CNN. Those aren't exactly Republican sources.

Hamas is a terrorist organization. They started this whole debacle on October 6 by massacring civilians.

I really don’t think twice about the civilians over there. Really couldn’t care less what happens. Completely indifferent.

Israel is a terrorist organization that has been killing Palestinians for 75 years and inching into their territory. It takes two to tango and Israel is not just America's innocent beat friend. I'm not sure what to tell you on CNN and MSNBC, they are pretty pro Israel. MSNBC just fired their two most out spoken people against the war in Gaza. Israel has dropped 5 times more bombs in tonnage than the US did on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

All I'm saying is that killing tens of thousands of civilians and almost 20000 children that we know of is probably not good with or without thinking Hamas is rolling around like Elon covered in kevlar kids.

I don't think either side is innocent which is part of the reason I think there's no solution to the conflict.

That being said, the Palestinians won't stop attacking Israel like they did on October 6. They had to know that Israel would react. Hamas is dedicated to destroying Israel. It's in their charter and the Palestinians still chose to elect Hamas as their leadership.

Suppose that after the American Civil War that Virginia kept bombing Washington D.C. The opposing side would have to react. That's basically the Palestinians who won't stop attacking Israel.

The whole situation blows and I think there will probably never be a peaceful solution, unfortunately.

All I know is that you and I aren't going to be the ones to solve it. Here's an inspiring and tragic picture to leave this thread with.

Yep. It's a debacle.

My only solution would be to move...easier said than done.

His truth social posts read like a spam text.
They read like a guy who struggled in school, so his dad paid for him to get a degree at a military school. Then he struggled in college even with his sister doing part of his course work, so his dad sent him to Penn and bought him a degree there. They read like the stuff a guy with a 4th grade education, a massive ego, ADHD, dyslexia, and desperately needs glasses, would write.

Bad example.
Check out American history in the rest of that century.
