Would Iowa be 7-4 right now if Stratton had been allowed to win the job in August

At worst we are 8-2 ... probably 9-1.

Iowa state gets beat down in the first half and quits like they were begging to do

Osu still a loss prob cause the refs have been just ridiculous in Columbus this year (see Nebraska today)

MSU a toss up, hard place to win…but definitely would’ve been better than the shit show we saw last week and no way the defense gives up that many yards, look how excited the defense is now

You can't coulda woulda shoulda this. They're only guesses, and this is a nearly punchless Northwestern team.

He should have, however, been given a chance much earlier than today.
Yeah, and McNamara trailed this punches team 5-7 nearing half because he is terrible in every phase of the game and his immobility allows a D to play 8 in the box and crash the LOS. You can’t do that against a guy who can get outside the pocket to make plays.

That's not the point.

Sure, there's a different style involved. But you can't assume that all the games until now would have played out the same way as they did with the exception of Sullivan in for McNamara translating into "everything is better" or simply "more wins".

The prior 7 games are in the books. Ain't nothing we can say today changes those facts. Everything else about those games is guesswork.

He was. He didn’t.
Here are the stats.

C/ATTYDSTDINT
9/147900
7/137301
16/2715201

rushing:
SULLY - 8 for 41 - 1 TD
CADE - zero yards rushing

And you want us to believe that Sullivan became better than Cade at half-time today ?? Let me guess, like Labas he's addicted to marijuana but kicked the habit 3 hours ago.

Have some self-respect, and stop showing the world that you love the taste of boot-leather.

I think we would be 6-1 but the defense was a huge problem last week. They definitely don't lose to Iowa State though. I don't understand why Kirk has no issues replacing players at other positions but he will not replace the QB despite repeated poor play. This is now the third season in his tenure where it has cost him. This year, it cost them a trip to the playoffs. Given the schedule next year, it's probably not happening then either.

So here's the point I think. Cade hasn't looked good for an entire game this year. Against ISU he accomplished nothing after the 1st quarter of play other than turning the momentum with a bad interception. He hasn't "won" any games and you could easily argue that even very below average QB play wins 2 very close games where Iowa lost. Cade is a very, very bad quarterback today. It's not his fault that he was out there. It is 100% on Kirk.

Possibly. I think we definitely would've beat ISU. We didn't have an offensive identity during that game, because we didn't know KJ2 would break out like he has. If we knew who we were, we would've creamed those dorks.

Not sure about MSU though, our defense choked hard on that one.

KF cares more about being right than he does success. I'm firmly convinced of that now. He's gotta go. We've had too many Sullivan type scenarios under KF. He always seems to take too long to see the obvious when he should be the first.
Now ???
No my friend, you've known the truth for a long time. But social media does one thing, and it does it very very well. It shuts down truth. KF sacrificed 2007 out of stubbornness ... same goes for part of 2008 and all of 2012 and 2014 and part of 2001. He saw how Alford was able to roll Bowsbly and learned that if you negotiate an employer-hating contract then you can indulge your own stubbornness without fear of accountability. He also learned something else from Alford, he learned that if you stare straight into the camera and lie about reality, the local media will eat it up. Remember Alford and his "we have 5 straight winning seasons" mind-ph**k ?

Why did we not runaway from this punchless team when Cade was in ?????

Iowa has done this in all 5 wins so far this year. Look bad offensively the first half, come out much better offensively the 2nd half. You can even say that happened in the MSU game too.

I do believe Cade needed to be pulled. I'm just not sold on this change necessarily solving all Iowa's offensive issues. And it damn well doesn't guarantee Iowa's record would be any different than 4-3 in the prior 7 games. Those 7 games are over. Not one single human being can change that. A different QB only guarantees those games would have played out differently, but different doesn't guarantee any more wins.

The change has been made, time to move on. Hopefully in the remaining games Iowa is more consistent offensively - but this change doesn't necessarily guarantee that happening. Remember when Padilla came in for some games a few years ago? Everybody swore, gonna be better offensively because he's more mobile.

Didn't exactly work out that way, did it?

An Iowa State fan would counter Sullivan's boost with something the 'Clones could have done better in the game, had they known what they know now. Time travel or foootball Mulligans would benefit both teams, probably mostly equally.

Speaking of that game. Let's review, Hawks ahead late in the game and Kirk puts the outcome on Parkers back. What does that remind me of ??? Oh, that's right. Iowa is ahead of Michigan State late in the CCG in 2015 and what does Kirk do? Makes sure the offense doesn't go anywhere with lame play-calling, and put the game on Parker's back.
I'm not too concerned with what Cyclones would say, I know if we had a head coach that asked as much from his offense as he does from the defense/special teams we win that game easily.
One thing is for certain, Campbell and Cignetti will get to the playoffs before Anti-cluth Kirk, because he will never make the playoffs.

We can, and we are. That’s mostly the reason this board exists. To discuss nonsensical topics related to Iowa football. I’d bet my left nut we would have AT LEAST one more win.

Easy to bet a nut when you can't be proven wrong. I will bet your left nut that Sullivan starts the rest of the season barring injury.
