The team in Ames would need to "overperform" to break into the top 15.
How funny would it be for Henson to go to ISU and beat out their prized recruit at 141? Then...next year Henson transfer again?

I think Stevo Poulin, Joe Heilmann, Wyatt Henson, Dom Demas, all 4, 174's listed above, both Samuelson and Jordan at 184 and Slavikouski can all make an impact. A lot of rd of 12 type guys on this list. I could see 3 or 4 guys from this list reaching the podium.

Which is kind of the point. I had them top 5 before the season. Who knew that "overperforming" would mean two AAs?
It doesn't help that they have arguably the lowest iq wrestler in the country in Jeremiah Kent.

Yes, I believe so. Heard he’s visited with Pitt and Northern Colorado. He was pretty highly touted out of high school. At some point I think he was even top 20 p4p

My guess is Max would push Demas up to 157
I don't think he had any inside info there other than what demas was looking for, which is a good post-college rtc. i don't think demas to iowa makes any sense. he was bad this year. he's been overrated most of his career. only way it makes any sense is if murin doesn't come back and in that case, it's a downgrade based on the last couple years. demas would be closer to not qualifying at 149 than placing. if he wants to walk on and compete that's one thing, but i couldn't justify giving him any money.
I know Pitt hopes to land him. I think he may have peaked when in Jr high. He is transferring because he cannot make his current team lineup and he is not behind anyone elite.
frankly, even if murin doesn't come back, i'd rather roll with a young guy like rathjen or siebrecht than demas. get those guys valuable matches to help them be ready when the team will (in theory) be ready to compete again.
I think Demas would be a good addition, if just for depth and to push Max. Demas took 4th at NCAA's in 2019, 2020 was the 5 seed, and 2021 lost in the blood round. He went up a weight in 2022 lost a couple questionable matches and was injured. I'm sure he will be eligible for a medical year and have 2 years remaining. He may jump levels in the Iowa room as well.
