Kakert put a :) at the end of tweet showing Foster at Carver last night...

Kakert is a savant. All those clown fans made fun of him for "not knowing" about XF's Ames GF. He really knew all along XF wouldn't have an Ames GF when it mattered.

Well, being at the game is a great sign. I just hope it wasn’t one of those “we said we were going so we’re going” or Fran asking for one last shot, even though he’s already decided. ‍♂️

One thing that is amusing this morning is the ugliness popping up on CF. Without knowing where XF will play next year, the thread about him over there has gone, in less than 24 hours, from post after post of unrestrained confidence ISU was giving Iowa a recruiting beat down to a morning of Foster is not that great opinion.

Yep, "he's not that great" if he chooses Iowa.

Just wondering what the excuses will be for either side that he doesn’t choose.

Oh, I have no doubt a few Iowa fans will have plenty of rotten things to say if he chooses Iowa State. I'm guessing there will be some "Prohm must have paid him" sentiments shared on here if he does announce for the Cyclones.

With that said, I think Iowa State fans will be more pathetic about it than Iowa fans if he chooses the "other school."

The excuses will be the same, but I think there will be a lot more garment rending among Iowa fans if Foster picks ISU than the other way around.

I don't know. I think Iowa fans will pile on the "Fran can't recruit" train and/or accuse Prohm of making a healthy deposit in his bank account.

Iowa State fans will trash Xavier and Iowa. I think they'll be more pathetic.

Yeah you sound like a Cyclone fan.

Lifelong Iowa fan, Iowa grad. Love the hawks, especially basketball. I’m just nervous about this one. Fran needs a recruiting win, and I think a lot of fans have pinned their hopes on XF being a hawkeye. We’ll see.

**** State.

In view of the fact that there hasn’t ever been and there isn’t now a single 247 CB or Rivals forecast indicating XF to ISU, it just isn’t reasonable to assert that he made up his mind weeks ago for ISU. That’s complete BS. These guys aren’t just flipping a coin. They have actual connections within the respective programs.

Could he still pick ISU? Of course.

I just think it’s highly unlikely at this point. The guys who watch this stuff would have gotten some inkling of it by now.

Welcome, XF!!

If XF chooses Iowa it’s because he’s been a life long Hawkeye fan. Fran can’t recruit so he had nothing to do with it. Even if Lick was still our coach and we went winless 3 years in a row Xavier still would have chosen Iowa because of his ties and dreams. Because he chose Iowa it’s proves he is majorly overrated and won’t start until maybe his junior or senior year. Plus Conditt is much better. Prohm has a trick up his sleeve that is better than Foster

THIS IS CF VERBATIM I KID YOU NOT!!

I ventured over there to see the possible impending meltdown and took words from different peasants and made a summary. Pretty funny honestly.

I honestly don’t think any of the recent events should make us Hawkeye fans feel any more confident. On the outside it looks good for us in terms of him coming back for a game so close until he decides but then it could be he made a commitment to come and didn’t want to break that. As others have said, the Fosters have shown both sides so much respect and have been classy the entire way through. After it’s all said and done, no fan should say he made a huge mistake and went to the wrong school. He and his family have spent several years going through the process, analyzing every possibility, and making sure the decision they make is the right now. As fans it may be a little hard to deal with because we just want to know, but at least he isn’t like others who commit and de-commit a few times due to not thinking things through. The fact that he grew up a Hawk fan and has ties to the university but has taken this long shows how difficult of a position he is in. My guess is deep down he’d love to play for his dream school but knows Iowa might not (or might who knows) be his best option (basketball wise). I love my Hawks but I am able to be rational and take the blinders off. Whether it be guards or not, ISU has had more success putting guys in the NBA. Any recruit is going to look at that factor when choosing between schools. Might not be the most important factor but it plays a part.

FWIW, a guy I used to work with from Oskaloosa is confident Foster is going to Iowa. He doesn’t have inside information but is actively involved with the Osky boys basketball team.

The NBA angle is a myth perpetuated by ISU fans. Nobody outside of Iowa could name a single ISU NBA player outside of maybe Morris. They have half a dozen clipboard holders and that's about it. By no means could it be argued that they are good at developing pro prospects. ISU also isn't great utilizing big men, which is why Cook and Wesson dominated their frontcourt.

The reason I use the NBA angle in this case is because we aren’t dealing with an out of state recruit. I guarantee Foster knows ISU has more recent success with players in the NBA and also all around success after regular season. I agree though, that it wouldn’t matter if we were talking about a recruit who has zero ties to either school. I personally don’t think Foster really cares who has more success putting guys in the NBA. I feel he is more concerned playing for a coach who utilizes him as a stretch 4 and is fine with him not being a banger down low (a lot like Anthony Davis on the Lakers). I am not saying Foster is anything like AD skill wise but just in terms how he wants to play. AD will play 5 in situations where it makes sense but is outspoken about preferring 4 where he can spread out and use his athleticism that many 7 footers can’t match. I also agree Iowa would probably be best for him to be in that situation.

XF recently posted on Instagram one of his main goals is to not have to get a real job. Take your Hawk blinders off here. It's not a myth whatsoever it is a very real factor. If you were an 18 year old kid with NBA potential and aspirations you dont think itd be a factor in your decision whatsoever?

You misunderstand. I'm not saying going pro isn't a real factor. I'm saying ISU is not an NBA factory. They have half a dozen benchwarmers. Big deal. Plus they just lost to Oregon State and likely won't be in the tournament this year.

Just joined and 1st post. Welcome back CyTwins.

Only 7 other schools currently have more players on NBA rosters. You literally said the NBA factor is a myth. No clue who cytwins is sorry just a Hawk fan following this recruitment.

You asked big deal? I told you why it's a big deal. XF doesnt want a real job. ISU currently sending the vast majority of their high profile recruits to the NBA where they dont have real jobs.

You're not a Hawk fan so hit the road Jack.

A great deal of his settling for the instate schools is the lack of better options.
That’s largely due to his interest in going out of state. If he wanted to go out of state, other than a blue blood, he could have.

Yeah.... Foster had 148 blocks last year. Only 4 other teams (obviously not counting Oskaloosa) had more than Xavier alone! Of course one of those teams also had a player with more than Xavier!
Christian Heilbuth JR Siouxland Christian had 156 in 2 fewer games.

would be nice to have a good defensive center again , have not had one since AC Earl

And Iowa State fans would just go on about their business?

They would talk about how great their other recruits are, and how they are so much better than Foster anyway, and blah blah blah. Cyclone fans think ISU is some sort of basketball superpower. It's hilarious.
