You guys see Pocahontas wants to Unionize Congress?

So, all of the congressmen and women generate graft and corruption? This needs more explanation.

“Sen. Elizabeth Warren said Tuesday that she was sorry that she identified herself as a Native American for almost two decades, reflecting her ongoing struggle to quiet a controversy that continues to haunt her”

When you falsely claim to be a brutally repressed race when actually you’re the face of white privilege they open themselves up to nicknames.

Wow, you would have been better off just not responding. Someone would have to be a complete idiot to post this. You should be embarrassed.

What I appreciate about this post is that it manages to fail on numerous levels.

The piss poor attempt at linking Warren’s quote to his accusation against her is obvious.

But then there’s the sympathetic reference to the treatment of indigenous peoples; from someone who supports a political party that continues to malign and take advantage these people in the present day.

Then, for good measure, they attach the “white privilege” label to Warren, the Oklahoma born woman of modest means that worked her way through school and raised her children while building a career in academia. Somehow, KF is seemingly unaware that the originator of the “Pocahontas” term at the heart of this discussion (Trump) is the poster boy for white privilege.

That you could pack so much FAIL into so little space is truly impressive. Kudos.
Who maligns and fails indigenous peoples? Have you even read ONE book on the history of the first Americans and how they were dealt with by early settlers, the Catholic Church, Democrat Presidents (cough Andrew Jackson cough) as just one? Good God what a load of 💩💩💩

They did it a year or so ago.

My point is, Warren’s statement is like a member of a company’s Board of Directors saying “You know, I have a great idea...our employees should unionize so we can pay them more!”

Yeah… I agree with the ridiculousness. 100%

Had to laugh about the same scenario where a board member won’t approve a fiscal budget until they get what they want.

It’s like the only way to fix our system is to break it more

You’re such an enigma, goldmom. For many topics, you’ll take a reasonable position and back it up with sensible rationale. But if the topic touches a nerve for you (and it appears senator Warren is one such topic) you distort the premise and move on to spewing vitriol so quickly. I expect the personal insults will begin with your next missive.

But back to Warren, or “Lieawatha” as you like to call her, and my comment regarding the treatment of indigenous peoples; yes I have read several books on the subject, have participated in projects with the organization that runs Cahokia Mounds (look it up), and also work for a firm that has an entire business unit for working with Tribal communities.

I certainly agree with you that many (all?) groups in this land that we now call our own committed atrocities against these people. The operative words in my post were “continues…in present day” which you’ve either failed to notice or purposely ignored in order to change the focus and imply that I don’t understand the topic.

I really believe, that deep down, you are a good person. But for whatever reason, certain topics cause you to lose rationality and resort to these petty antics.

Be better; because I know you can. I’ve seen it.

I was going to give this a like because I agree with your main premise but your last two paragraphs are far off base.

Jackson was no paragon of virtue, mom. That is probably why #47 decided to hang Old Hickory's pic in the Oval Office. Jackson’s treatment of Indians was a travesty back in the day… but very popular with the citizenry. Sound vaguely familiar?
My mom (a history buff and history teacher for years) absolutely loved the Jackson story and Presidency…me, not so much. However, I understand his importance in the development and growth of America… and I truly admire his dislike and feelings regarding bankers and the American banking system. Every man has their good points.
