I watch a lot of basketball but have never coached it. Baseball and football are my games. So since the disclaimer is out there I was wondering why we didn't play more zone defense against Purdue?
It seemed like they where crushing our man to man with back cuts all night and we had no rim protection. To me a zone would have helped that. I noticed we change to a 2-3 zone for a couple of possesions and it seemed like it worked, but we quickly went away from it.
For those basketball gurus out there help me understand why we didn't try more 2-3, 1-3-1 or 3-2 zone?
