Last game of the year, long tournament run, tired legs with little rest. A strong bench is important in winning a championship. Hawk girls got beat 37-0 from the bench. Get some rest girls……it was a great season.

I feel like this moment sealed the game. We had a chance to take a lead into the half with momentum. That moment took the wind out of the sails and the result was coming out the 2nd half really flat, allowing them to build a big lead that was just too much to overcome.

Just an observation after last night’s thriller. Kate Martin, again, showed why she might be the most important Hawk not named Caitlin. Her three buckets late in the 4th kept UConn on their back foot and proved how vital playing as a team is for success. 8 rebounds too. She is the Captain and the glue for this team. Not sure the Hawks would be in the final without her. She deserves all the recognition she can get from Hawk fans and fans of women’s basketball.

As a lifelong Hawk fan I couldn’t be more proud of a bunch of girls that did everything the right way. Never quite got the final prize, but left us fans a hell
Of a lot of awesome memories. Time to turn the page to our future. Great recruiting is going to keep us strong and we got a great nucleus coming back. We got the best staff in the nation. Great job team and Thanks again for the fun ride!!!!!

As we're 15 minutes before tipoff, it's hard not to think of my mother, who was a six-girl player so long ago. She would have loved seeing the game where it is now, and knowing her, she'd be devastated that Molly Davis can't go.

He just cannot recruit! Every day I see new developing about this guy transferring to Iowa State, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Creighton and on and on. Never Iowa! What is wrong? Is Beth Goetz not taking note? Are we that undesirable to these kids? Iowa just appears as a non player any longer. If that is so Fran needs to be replaced with an aggressive, defensive-minded coach that appeals to these top players.
