noDid Rathjen put himself back in the conversation?
Probably not but given the personnel at the 2 classes, the cut to 149 is a bit confusing.
Why make the cut when 57 is an unknown commodity?
That's very possible... anyone know what he was weighing when he was at 57 earlier? It isn’t a cut. He’s not a 157 weight wise.
I'm guessing his walk around weight is around 160-165 which would make him a 149lber. He probably leaves practice around 157-155 every day on full feed. That's very possible... anyone know what he was weighing when he was at 57 earlier?
I'm with you. I like the funk of Cobe and think that if he can get his defense a little tighter (Carr was taking him apart on TDs), he could be one of those guys who could make some noise. Again, love his funk and wish we had more funky guys!
i somewhat disagree. i dont think either comes close to placing, but cobe can pin guys on the backsideI'm with you. He's limited on offense outside of funk and had trouble defending his legs against a very average wrestler.i somewhat disagree. i dont think either comes close to placing, but cobe can pin guys on the backside
he could get waxed by all of those guys and still qualify. He's limited on offense outside of funk and had trouble defending his legs against a very average wrestler.
I've been worried our feel good story would get exposed against the Big10 grind of Robb, Coleman,Lewan, Cumbley, Lee and now possibly add Haines to the mix. He may be hard pressed to qualify.
Throw in Model and Carr as well. How many auto will Big10 get at 157? 8/9?he could get waxed by all of those guys and still qualify.
I wouldn't call Carr a "very average wrestler"He's limited on offense outside of funk and had trouble defending his legs against a very average wrestler.

Blood round and R16. That's pretty average...I wouldn't call Carr a "very average wrestler"
We seem to forget that he made the blood round and R16, but has been battling injuries ever since. He's knocked off a handful of All-Americans when healthy too. He has some damn good wins on his resume.
Had Cobe won, we'd all be saying it was a solid win against a very capable vet, but when he loses? Apparently he loses to a scrub.
he's had rough tournaments, but took eierman to the wire a couple times and of course beat nick lee. he's very talented.Blood round and R16. That's pretty average...
It would have been a solid win against a savvy vet, who is by definition a good wrestler and has as many AA finishes as I do. Instead it was a loss where he was taken down repeatedly.
I said in the dual thread y'all wouldn't like my assessment of our 157.
Blood round and R16 is definitely NOT average. Even being an NCAA qualifier is decidedly above average. What are there? roughly 80 D1 schools?Blood round and R16. That's pretty average...

I'm definitely not disagreeing. I can't see him placing unless someone starts upsetting the upper seeds before Cobe gets to them in the 2nd and/or 3rd round. If that happens I sure think he's capable of surprising top 10-15 talent.i somewhat disagree. i dont think either comes close to placing, but cobe can pin guys on the backside
