The Raneys

You turn people away from here when you are a prick for no reason. I understand that narcissism has no cure, but you could atleast make an effort to play it cool.

In the past he has posted about a source connected to the Raney's. It could be reaching from me, but it was worth the 15 seconds it took me to ask. I'll live with it.

Have a great day Spooner. Enjoy the sunshine!

If I was a betting man, it’s most likely down to Iowa and Illinois for the Raneys. Jax takes OSU out of the mix and Blaze takes out PSU. I know ISU is interested but they fit in perfectly at 133 and 141 for Iowa. Illinois is rebuilding so we need to go all in.
Good analogy and hope you are right

They're definitely being contacted by teams and I hear are looking to leave ASU
You seem to have some inside info on the Raneys from reading the tea leaves. Any news to share? I believe you had said good news was coming but you did not know when. Not sure if that was in relation to the Raneys.

idk - as true freshmen Kael and Estrada are promising imo. add in another year of reps. subtract the seniors graduating. they could be closer than you think.
Closer to what is the pertinent question. Closer to being an AA? Or closer to being top 4 which is pretty much necessary at every weight?

They're definitely the best on the board currently. Ohio st is making a big push currently. Oklahoma st is definitely in the mix but with Jax and Vega I'm not sure where they fit in. Iowa is definitely recruiting them as well. I wouldn't expect anything until the HS season wraps up.

Ohio State knows that they are rapidly falling out of the discussion as even a remote title (2nd Place) contender. While I doubt their fall will be Michigan level, a trophy is getting to be a little out of the picture. Their full court press is not surprising.

What does he say about where they are going? I thought it was Iowa, Okie St and Illinois
It was an educated guess on the top 3. There is no actual info out there on top schools. Interesting to see if Ohio State can make a run. Rumor has it Cael will be there next week.

I hate to sound like a petulant child, but I want to root for the Raneys in all their matches for the next forever years so MAKE THAT SHIT HAPPEN! (he screamed to nobody listening that has power).

2025 BK rs Fresh Mocco Jr in HS
2026 BK Soph Mocco Sr/HS
2027 BK Junior Mocco Red Shirt
2028 BK SR Mocco RS Fr(both Mocco and BK are elegible for an Olympic year here.
Mocco could also grey shirt in 2027
But if NCAA goes to 4 years within 5, then would throw out stuff like Oly and grey shirts?

Agree to disagree!

Am I the only one that thinks it is hilarious that the biggest asshole on a wrestling board has never worn a singlet? Never change Spooner.

When the space shuttle blew up, did you need a rocket scientist to tell you? It also doesn't take a wrestler to be a big meanie.

Reaction score🤣🤣🤣 WTF, are you a little girl🤣🤣🤣

"Likes whore" is what we call them on HBOT.
Yep...girly type.

You guys! 🤣

Absolutely. Well, hopefully its just 5 years, period. End of story. Hoping beyond hope that sanity finally wins the day and this happens.
I agree 100%. It would simplify everything. Is it supposedly going to be 5 years to wrestle in 4 NCAAs or just a cut and dry 5 years to wrestle in up to 5 NCAAs? I would be curious as to what the arguments against switching to the 5 year rule would be.

Diversent, Batista, Echemedia and Ortega next year — it very well could be the Cuban national team. Don’t get me wrong, I want them to beat Okie State but I am against all these foreigners taking over programs. I know it happens in every other sport but it’s just my personal opinion. If Ortega makes it in, he will destroy the 125 field.

I'm all for it, in general. College sports aren't just for Americans.

As for Ortega, he will be 27 in a few months. Would have to think he would have trouble getting in, but these days one never knows. He also hasn't competed in nearly 4 years.

I can’t say with 100% certainty but everything I’ve read says 5 years to complete five full seasons of eligibility.
That would be the simplest way to handle it. 5 years for each kid. No medicals, ORS, or RS. 5 years to wrestle as many or few of them as you want/can. This would make recruiting even more important as it gives Iowa 5 years of Bo or any other stud recruits attached if they choose too. How will they classify guys then? Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, and Graduate Senior?!?
