2023 World Championships coming up!

These challenges are a little much, need to figure something else out. Way too many.
Yes - brick thrown, multiple video replays from all angles, committee conferences, committee votes, scoring table gives lengthy explanation in Serbian, nobody knows what's going on.

All caught up with results. What a medal round!

Vito looked fantastic. Will be interesting to see how he looks as he works his way down to 57kgs. Pass to semis at OTT challenge will be very beneficial.

Zain wrestled very well. Looks great at 70kgs, but like all tweeners, will have a tough decision to make.

DT is DT. I admit I was a little down on him. Thought maybe he was a bit slower/less conditioned this tourny, but very glad to be wrong. Got a fall with a cradle, one with a bar/half nelson, and of course the fun one in the finals.

Major props to Parris. Short notice, but still qualifies the weight and brings home a medal at his 1st Worlds with a loaded field. Well done young man!

Dake vs Sidakov.
Thoughts? I like Dake in a match not as close as I originally thought.
I'm thinking Dake like 8-3.
When is the last time Sidakov faced anyone of Dakes caliber? Been years.
Sidakov is quick and a tactician but so is Dake.
Dake looks to be stronger than Sidakov, at least by the eye test.
Dake doesn't quite look like Dake though either, seems a little sluggish.
Should be a good one!

Dake/Sidakov - brings to mind the Marx brothers mirror scene.

Dake vs Sidakov. I do think Dake can be a dynamic scorer at times, we just haven't seen it much this tourney.

Guys have figured out not to get into those chest wrap or seatbelt positions against Dake because they know they'll get launched for 4 if they do. So they are avoiding it by sprawling out and not working up. Thing is, Dake is still so strong defensively that he isn't going to give up points from there either.

He doesn't force his own offense but he very rarely gives up points. Just like his NCAA days, he may not put a ton of points on the board, but he is still a dominant wrestler

How smooth and clutch Sidakov is though, I think this could be a fireworks match, even if it ends up being relatively low scoring

Lee mat B. Up 2-0 at break. Flo just can't get it together. Upcoming bout and mat assignment board is blank.

Nick Lee and Rivera (Seabass repping Puerto Rico) on opposite sides of the bracket. Lee has Iranian next.

Snyder and Sadulaev will meet in the semi’s if both advance.

Sadulaev looking very human. I think Snyder has a decent shot if Sadulaev gets past the Iranian. Sebass looking like a killer.
Sadulaev does look a bit sluggish. And Snyder looks invigorated. Hopefully we see Kyle take him out this year. Tall task

I wonder what his training schedule was like leading up to this. It was very back and forth on whether he'd even be here. He had a very irregular training schedule leading up to 2017 and it showed in that match. Snyder might have a shot here.

Nick Lee, down 7-0, goes feet to back and starts running a bar arm and almost got him flipped over! Unfortunately he comes up short and loses 7-4. Almost had the comeback of the tournament!

Lee loses 7-4. Got killed with the undertook all match until hitting a desperation 4 point throw towards the end of the match.

Seabass with the tech to move onto the semi’s.

oops lol

Sadulaev down 4-2 to Goleij of Iran with under 30s

Sadulaev clutches out a fall with 5s left. Wow!

Bahrain wrestles Sadulaev in the semis now. If Sad wins, Snyder is eliminated and this will be the first time he doesn't medal at Worlds. If Bahrain wins, then Snyder and Sad would be a potential bronze medal match

Welp. Assumptions are the mother of all f*ck ups. Never seen Snyder get thrown around the mat like that.

The Iranian gifted that match. Only a few seconds left and he went straight to his back. Gutsy comeback from Sadulaev.
He basically hit the same throw Nick Lee hit on the Iranian, just closer to the mat. Got Goleij off balance with multiple attacks and stepped behind for a polish throw while he was recovering. Nasty.
