Anyone doing PBP tonight?

Glazier not strong enough at 197.

Cass forgot he doesn't have 20 extra pounds of anchor weight. The losses tonight were all embarrassing.
Glazier was definitely behind in the horsepower department. That is ultimately what got him. Princeton kid stayed tough where he needed to be, and that was that.

Unbelievable. If we want to repeat, we sure as hell have our work cut out for us.
Let's not forget this was not our true lineup.
Agree 100% that several of our guys didn't seem mentally prepared.
Thought Nelson looked great at a more natural weight of 174.
Myles looked like an animal!

Arrogance made worse by his comment being mentioned on the broadcast and the end result. I love Moody but very arrogant commentary throughout the broadcast.
He's talking smack pre-match with a guy and teammate he knows well. But Moody should definitely keep that to himself regardless of intent.

Big Cass has been around long enough for anyone who's ever watched him to know "arrogance" isn't his thing. He's proven that beyond the shadow of a doubt, IMO.

Moody should keep to himself and Cass learned nothing is a given.

Nope. I sense a an unpleasant arrogance with this team that needs to go away fast. Guys wrestling reckless, not respecting their opponent. Even Eierman who has dominated on the scoreboard has been flopping too much trying to force big moves. He is better when he does solid wrestling first.
I concur on all counts. We had some very impressive showings at 33, 49, 74 and 84, but aside from those I was not inspired. Hope TNT can right this ship ASAP.

These guys spend to much time celebrating this off season? One starter looked like he wrestled hard.

Yeah, and that little dude barely holding onto the rope is our wrestling team barely holding onto the number one spot. And just like in your video, It's possible but not without some help. And we shouldn't need anyone's help. Against a team like Princeton our hammers should be able to go out and destroy people...and that just didn't happen. The guys who destroyed people, aside from ADS, were not our regular starters. So maybe a little dramatic and maybe not? I don't want to be back to those years where we were always having to talk about next year; I want the country to know this is our year (again). And we didn't do that...not even close.

I was annoyed with this meet already but Cass getting jelly rolled by Garbanzo Bean really topped it off.

What were you annoyed by? Just tell me which matches. Tony got caught. Did you ever wrestle a match in your life. It was careless by Tony, but every once in awhile you will get caught at heavy. I’m not worried about Tony. Young never was that good and I knew he was going to get beat. The Bull? Meh, he’ll be fine or he lose his starting position.

No match at 125 was annoying, Eierman trying too hard for big moves. Young looked bad. Bull was sloppy, also forcing the big move. Glazier did nothing.

The sky's not falling, but I will say that if I were Princeton, I'd be elated at how this dual meet turned out--especially without their 2 best guys in the lineup.

The 2 "OW" performances of the meet were both by Princeton (157 & 285).

Young looks like a toss-up in the round of 16 again.

Marinelli gets taken down, then gets reversed at the buzzer to lose the major. Sloppy.

Glazier? Did he actually wrestle? Could've sworn I missed it.

Not gonna pile on Cass. But sloppy.

It wasn't the most important dual of the season. We wrestled without 5 starters. But it's like your favorite band giving an off-key concert performance. It's not what 13,000 fans paid to see.

I’m of the belief that it takes awhile for him to get used to his cut, and wresting multiple matches a day like they do in March benefits him on his second match of the day. You could make the argument that Monday is a bad matchup. To that I’d have a hard time arguing. He was not sharp tonight.

People seem to have forgotten he didn’t beat him the last time they wrestled, either.

Those who follow recruiting more than me, are Siebrecht and Wilson supposed to be the future at those weights, or were they just wrestling some of Princeton’s worst?

Opponents a major issue. Wilson is a 5th year senior who may or may not return next season. Siebrecht is the classic room guy. Obviously has some funk but likely never starts unless there are injury issues.

If this post is actually serious I suggest getting to bed early and sleeping it off.

Yes, to all that. I’m not worried though. Tony slipped up and got caught that’s fat boy wrestling. Young just can’t handle the quickness and just isn’t that good and Glazier looked like garbage. The Bull will be fine or ride the bench.

Yeah I’m sure Princeton is elated with 2 guys not making weight then watching their starters get wrecked by Iowa backups, knowing that even if their “two best wrestlers” were in the lineup they would both have been underdogs against Iowa’s starters. I bet they’re doing backflips as we type.

FYI: Their second best wrestler is Monday who’s ranked 7th. Stefanik is ranked in the 20s.

Did anyone else feel like especially for the starters that they had been coached heavily to work on getting back points more so than scoring points. Like do not cut and release. I know that you getting the pin fall is always the goal but this just felt a little different. This was especially apparent to me in the ADS match, the Eierman match and Bulls match.

Good God man, I know this--the guys we need to be good, didn't look good.

Settle down, brah. Young looked like shit only because Monday is better than him. The rest of them will turn it up. The Bull will be fine. Who are you worried about. Non starters?

Edit; I wouldn’t worry about Cass his place at the NCAA’s is already set in stone. Young still sucks. The Bull can win it all possibly…I’m done defending tonight. They’ll be fine, but I could see Iowa finishing 3rd this year if TnT don’t start attacking. Why not let the fur fly, I hate that phrase, against a mediocre team? That I don’t get. I’m just going to STFU now because I don’t understand what Iowa style is anymore. Is it Brands’ style or Sorensen style? Attack and score or collar tie and keep it close and lose in the final seconds or SV? Do they not coach leg attacks at all? Ah, ****. Whatever

That’s not fat boy wrestling, when you’re that high, you can get rolled through at any weight. It wasn’t just that Cassioppi was high, it was that he didn’t drop his hips after releasing DelGarbino’s leg. If his hips were lower the Tiger would not have been able to get through the crotch to the leg. I doubt he gets rolled all the way through without the leg. Good move on Princeton.

rewatching the cass match and that was 100% an intentional move from the princeton kid and he deserves some credit. he baited tony into relaxing as he was going over and then exploded with a high bridge, hooked the head and leg together and took him through. i don’t think tony was high or out of position or weak. he relaxed thinking the guy was just going to concede since he was turning over like 90% of heavyweights do.

The guy tried a little bit of rolling action on the first TD.

Nope, a lighter weight could have bridged or try to belly out. That is a fat dude on your chest and you can’t do shit.

I understand how he got in that position and the physics that were in play. A lighter weight would have had at least a chance to do something. It was fat boy wrestling, you don’t want to be there at heavy. I suppose you think a guy at 125 and a guy at 235 would probably be the same thing on your chest even if you were the same size. Yeah, all weight classes wrestle the same style. I know what he did wrong, I’m just saying at that weight he was caught and done.
