I could see him going to Pitt after Dixon leaves for TCUTo where? Fran needs to go someplace that has a nice recruiting base because he has a hard time recruiting.
If he can teach defense and has some Chicago tough players on the roster it is possible that having tough minded kids who won't let us wilt is possible and that will cure A LOT of ills. Mike-Sapp- JU- and Woody are all soft and their record in close games more than backs that up. New era. Let's see what we have. One can only hope he moves on. To where I don't care. Just go.
This seems like a relevant question to me due to Fran's stage of life not so much his age. I can see a mid-major program out East that needs some new life hiring him. Fran has two sons on the way to Iowa with one with just one more season left of high school ball to play. If he wants a change of scenery this seems like a good time. I don't see him getting Iowa much further than he has but I have no idea how he looks at it.
So what is your claim to expertise? Have you risen to the highest level in your profession? Are you a D1 coach that knows the game inside and out? Be the best ditch digger you can be.One can only hope he moves on. To where I don't care. Just go.

How much longer will Boeheim last at Syracuse? He's 71. If they make a deep run this year he may decide to hang it up. There's also Seton Hall or Providence if their coaches get lured away to a bigger schools.
It depends how much Fran wants to get back East.
He's got two boys that I'm sure he'll want to coach, so keep that in mind. The boys will obviously follow dad wherever he goes. Is his wife a east coast gal...her preference will also play a role.

Well, little Ricky is on thin ice.Fran's wife is from Minneapolis. They love IC.
You got that right.... remember we are not Kansas. The last great recruiter we have had was Raveling and that was a short stint a long time ago. Just long enough to produce one of the best teams in modern program history - no coincidence.
Fran got the most out of what we had. It's just you run into better teams with better players at some point in the tourney unless there is an upset on your path.

Doubt Not a Ska... Two Tone Band from California. Featured Gwen Stefania(?) Plenty of hope and OK if you are a dope.He isn't a great recruiter. If he can get a Philly or NYC job, I think he takes it.
I've generally supported Fran, but his bully act with the local press is getting tiresome. Frankly Fran's arrogance-to-success ratio is only surpassed by Steve Alford.
Do we all asume Fran is enjoying his time here?
Might he go home when the green light is there?
