As much as I want the BIG teams to win

Life, God, Family, Country. Football, God, Hawks, Big Ten. It's all about pecking order. Like I said, I hope everyone Iowa plays wins, except when they play Iowa. It is like having a whole bunch of little brothers. :) You root for them, but you still want to beat them.
I’d feel like I needed 24 hour a day shower if I pulled Nebby or ND against anyone.

Lol, you guys honestly don't think Fleck put the ball where his kicker wanted it? Lmao.

This sums up how most fans think of coaches and why they are clueless about football
Minus the fact he missed a chip shot from same hash earlier in the game. Friend kicked for a small school and went to kicking camps for many years. Even he texted when I asked about it and said majority of left footed kicker prefer left over right just like most right prefer right with their kicking motion. He couldn’t understand why they didn’t keep center or left. Plus did you forget same K hit game winner from the far left hash almost same distance last year vs Nebraska week 1?

Pj went for more yards and back went tad to far to the right thinking his all conf K would make it and he choked it away.

Your friend doesn't coach the Minnesota kicker and get paid 7 figures to know where he wants the ball.

You got the choked it away part right though

So why did they set up left side last year? Again problem was back cut to the right and they were right center of the field. Instead of gaining yard or 2 less and be center just off to the side. Like 2 yrs ago inside the ten we weren’t center but off to the left a little when we beat MN on a chip shot. Less of an issue that close. It was a poor call not to do a straight up the gut or qb sneak to keep in center of the field and pj got greedy trying to gain a few more yards over field position and it cost him.

Then maybe the back blew it.

Maybe the kicker likes it at different spots from different distances. Maybe there was a difference in wind. Maybe the kicker's swing pattern is a little different than it was. Maybe it felt to the kicker like there was a difference in ball pressure. Maybe the kicker had a bruised leg.

Or maybe Fleck blew it.

We have no way of knowing any of this. And the fact that people want to immediately jump at it being the coach's fault, when that's the least likely of all, is just assinign. But welcome to football fans, I guess

I've always thought that, and I always cheer for Big Ten teams in Bowl Games...except Nebraska. Maybe because of Big Ten pride or maybe it's because I hate the Bowl game opponents even more. Doesn't stop me from smiling a bit when Big Ten teams with douchy coaches get an embarrassing loss.

God damn I give you an A+ for this reply we need more like you!

SIAP...if anyone wants confirmation that Gopher football is consistently laughed at...after the missed fg at the end of the game...they set off fireworks to celebrate!

In the video, a fan can be heard saying..."We lost the damn game".

Fleck is perfect for that program.

Yeah, it's called a missed kick.

You don't think a 7 figure/year coach knows where his kicker wants the ball spotted?🤣
Ok possibly but you spoke as if they did and called others stupid for questioning it. You’re right maybe all those factors we don’t know cause I don’t believe pj said in post game. But then again not like it would be first time coach screwed up a late game decision so it’s possible he did.
