Thanks for the info, dice. Sorry to hear that about McCutcheon, but those points could prove crucial if McCutcheon can't go. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. Hopefully McCutcheon bounces back in time for Nationals and it's nothing serious.Originally posted by dicemen99:
McCutcheon got dinged pretty good at the end of his match and was limping pretty bad as he gutted out the last :30 seconds.
My guess here is that you guys are going to get a win an an extra 2 points at 84 in the 3/4. Just a guess, it could have been one of those tweaks that you can walk off later. But it didn't look good.
WTF! Who was the ref that called that.fking horribleOriginally posted by Hawktagonapus:
Take your takedown away and then give you a stall warning 20s later? What a joke.
Why wouldn't he? The wrestlers will adapt and get away with exactly what the refs will allow them to.Originally posted by Irishhawkeye2107:
Burak was stalling, glad it was called. He was clearly running away. I don't know why they give a warning.....stalling should be a point. Pretty much every 1 point match has stalling for the last 30 seconds if there has not been a warning given.
I do think it would help if every stalling call came with at least 1 point to the opponent. Currently, if a guy has no warnings, he'll take the warning as long as there's no point awarded -- and if he's up by 2, he'll concede the point. If it goes 1-1-2-2-DQ, or something like that, guys won't be nearly as willing to take the first stalling call. Of course, the refs have to have some guts and make the call, too, and that's most of the problem under the current rules.Originally posted by Irishhawkeye2107:

The refs would be even more cautious to call it and it wouldn't do any goodOriginally posted by WWDMHawkeye:

Lol come on, Willy. He was running away. Blatant stalling.Originally posted by HIWILLE:

Thanks, I'll watch it again later. I certainly don't know more than the official, but any part of the body inside the mat cylinder is all it takes. If his foot was in the air but in the cylinder and he had control that's it. I probably have the sequence wrong in my mind.Originally posted by WWDMHawkeye:
The problem is that Burak's foot got dragged OOB and touched the mat OOB. It later came down in bounds but had already touched OOB.Originally posted by Nipigu:
I don't understand that though. The foot can be off the mat as long as it's inside the cylinder of the mat. I just be confused.Originally posted by IaPhoneMan4Hawks:
Yes ruling was foot was up and came down on the grey ob 1st
Another obvious tweak that would help is the one point push out as we have discussed a million times. It's a no brainer.Originally posted by SPOONER:

The stalling rules don't need to be changed. They need to be enforced.
He was stalling and he knew he could take it. Good job.Originally posted by Hawktagonapus:

I had a good view online. It was close, but I do think his toe got dragged OOB briefly. Beautiful shot, though.Originally posted by Nipigu:

Probably so. I think the officials get it right far more than I do from my living room. Thank goodness the call didn't matter though.Originally posted by WWDMHawkeye:
