He's currently the OC/QB coach at UNLV. He might still want that QB coaching position if he goes somewhere else. Lots of wide receiver coaching experience as well. He fills some much needed gaps in experience and expertise if he comes on board. At 37 years he looks like the epitome of the "young up and comer". If nothing else he'd be an exciting hire.

Better work on getting first downs before trying to play with tempo, IMO. Only thing worse than going 3 and out is going 3 and out very quickly.
I know what people are saying with his uptempo style, but if you can sustain some drives, that would equal the ball possession 3 and out we have been experiencing time wise. Something to think about.

When I hire people, I offer to the person with the highest ceiling. If they leave after 1 year and the spot I've hired them for is a stepping stone, then I likely had someone that killed it for a year and made my life easier.
Hiring someone should not be scary for someone that has a desire to be a leader.
Maybe not after ONE year, lol, but I definitely would rather have assistants that are in demand, not ones nobody wants.

Well, short possessions won't be a change for them. The difference is they may actually end those possessions with points instead of punts.

Desperate times (offensively) call for drastic measures. Watching that video about him was very interesting. Seems like a guy not afraid of betting on himself and not afraid of a challenge. But I do agree, up tempo is not Kirk’s MO but he might come around since running is still the cornerstone of the offense.

That's how I see it. I find it hard to believe that Iowa players would start following a UNLV OC just out of idle curiosity.
It likely means that he has at least interviewed in some capacity. It may not be anything more than that, but it is intriguing.
