WTF? I'm in this thread defending your head coach. That statement was simply awful, however. Something along the lines of "Business associate...never observed this behavior and don't condone...diddling kids is bad...legal process...thoughts are with the victim...yadda yadda..." would have been roughly 100,000 times better than what they put out, and likely had the added benefit of it being the truth. But instead they apparently sent out that dishonest trash. There was no reason for it.

To be clear, this ^^^^ was not my intention. What I wrote is exactly what I meant given the identfied nature of the business relationship. I realize at least one other may have read something into it that I did not really intend.

Sometimes I just try to keep it a little light even in the darkest of times. It's as simple as that.
I responded to someone else bringing up Jared and Subway. So I didn't start that tangent. I like to post as an exchange based on others comments. I think that's somewhat commonplace. I didn't pay attention to whether Jared was brought up by a PSU, Iowa, or tOSU poster. I didn't assume whomever posted it had intentions to deflect.
At least one PSU poster was honest enough to recognize the hypocrisy of the anti-Bob landlording take, albeit keeping it light. That was the sole purpose of that post. I bet Bob fully understood.

I employ a financial advisor. I have had the same financial advisor for over 20 years. He has many other clients.
If I learned my financial advisor was the kind of criminal that Carl Markley is accused of being, then he would no longer be my financial advisor. I would expect the company for which he works to be proactive and replace him. If that didn't occur, then I would take action. I wouldn't attribute his crimes to the company for which he works.
I would feel compassion for the victims, even as I would feel no guilt or culpability. I would make no public statement to this effect, understanding those who know me would not need to hear it and those who don't can as easily dismiss as empty words.
Being a busy man interested in my own endeavors, I would not bother to make any public statement that might be seen as trying to defend myself based on the association I had with the man.
I think this last part is the only part that materially differs with what transpired with the topic at hand. I think the only reason any public statement was made, was in consideration of Sandusky. I would assume Cael had something to do with its wording after the PSU Athletic Department reached a decision that it should release something.

The way I look at it, Carl has always been extremely competitive and a win-at-all-costs kind of guy. Why should I expect his investment deals to be any different? I am sure this dude made him some good money and was invested in his wrestling program, so everything else was out of sight, out of mind.
