California ER Doctors Corona Virus Briefing is Jaw Dropping

Why are you so eager to swallow what they are saying hook, line, and sinker, but not what the CDC, Birx, and Fauci are saying?

Could it be that what they are saying lined up perfectly with what you’ve been preaching this whole time, and everyone latching on your what they say could open things up as you have been lobbying for?
Fauci and Birx said 2 million dead and a 4.5 % mortality rate

They are very inaccurate. These Doctors, the USC study, the Stanford study and now the Miami study say its close to .1% mortality rate.the same as the flu.

The shutdown was not necessary according to these guys (See Sweden) and the latest studies back them up.

Now...…………..we have a economic depression to deal with for ten years that was entirely avoidable.

Do you trust Trump's people?

This is a fascinating social-political experiment that's unfolding.

They are claiming the corona virus is no more lethal than the flu.

latest University Miami study backs up what they are saying

Isn’t that.... good news?

You all need to understand this isn’t over. We could be starting to safely open up today if more resources were spent testing, tracking and developing strategies for living life while social distancing. Instead we’re just waiting... and mostly bitching.

The data, forecasts and models are literally ALWAYS wrong. If that wasn’t the case it would be called “knowing the future” - not attempting to predict it. If it turns out we overreacted.... I guess that’s a bummer, but we get to keep playing the game.

It’s the same reason coaches punt on 4th down - risk/reward. In the next couple weeks we’re going to see places open up.... and can reassess from there

yes it is good news.

If its no more lethal than the flu, there is no reason to have the entire country shutdown any longer.

do you have an intelligent opinion or response ?

WHO, CDC, Royal Academy of Science, [insert reputable scientific/health care organization]'s opinion >>>>> two doctors from California. It's called scientific "consensus", for a reason.

What I've been hearing a lot of lately is, "Well, COVID isn't a problem where I am at. Only in the big cities". And this is true. In many places it isn't a big issue...right now. And the reason why it has stayed not-a-problem is because of these shelter in place orders. You let people start moving around and suddenly, one person gets sick and then 30 people are sick and it is no longer "not-a-problem". What makes this virus so dangerous is how long it can be spread while the host doesn't have any symptoms. If you wait until the ER's start filling up with sick people, it's already two weeks too late for stay at home orders.

The only way around this is to massively test everyone, constantly. If we know who has the virus as early as possible, it becomes possible to individually isolate COVID postive people. Unfortunately, we've seen how popular the idea of massive testing and contact tracing is even on these boards. Americans just don't have the discipline or trust to make a plan like that work. You don't like the shelter in place orders? It's our own damn fault they are necessary.

I think it's fair to say that the WHO and CDC have been less than stellar during this crisis. Doesn't mean they're wrong, but it also doesn't mean their words should be given blind faith.

speaking of science we have the USC, Stanford and Miami studies backing up the data of the two ER doctors...they all say .1 to.14% mortality rate = flu

Fauci said 4.5 % woops he was only off by a factor of 45

he should be replaced

Roy-these guys are obviously Fox or Breitbart actors because scientists never disagree. They all support a socialist welfare, green revolution ideology. These two guys can't be real scientists.

I don't know. It's not their fault people didn't listen. The WHO identified COVID as a world health concern on January 30. The CDC has been knee-capped by the purge of actual scientists from our government's science organizations. However, the other world health organizations were saying the same thing.

re-watch the ER Doctors comments, read the results of the Stanford, USC, Miami studies

yes it is

again the flu in 2018 killed 60-80,000 people and the country was not shut down

I live in a state with a SIP order. I work across the river in a state that doesn't. I can tell you there are more people out shopping and doing what they want in Illinois than in Iowa. Iowa's deaths per million are a fourth of Illinois'.

I saw the Er doctors video. Besides not having any visible qualifications to weigh in and despite the fact they have on obvious reason for bias I don’t find them credible.

Go back and read the studies. Even if you plug in the most optimistic assumptions you still arrive at a fatality rate of 1/2 to 1 per cent.

and 2k per day is not an anecdote. It is a fact

ok take the blinders off

you either didn't read the studies or you are just making crap up

I didn't say people were actually following the SIP orders. Although it should be said that people buying groceries aren't considered in violation of the orders. People out buying groceries without a mask and not keeping their distance are, though.

Speaking of boats, Karl, how many active military have died of COVID 19? And how many active military die of illness in any given year? Do you have a graph to answer those questions?

U still sore at getting schooled on the March data, bro?

People aren't going to Menards and Lowes for groceries. If you like, I can take a picture of their parking lots tomorrow to show how seriously people are taking SIP.

They advocate widespread testing "In order to open the economy you have to have widespread testing. That's #1, no question about it."

I agree with this part of what they say.

Again: when somebody quotes that constitutional rights are being “danced” upon without adequately explaining what constitutional rights are being abused in this crisis, I’m going to tune them out. The good doctor is no longer providing viable medical and scientific facts when he diverges in that direction.

Nailed it. /thread

“A lot” is a loose term.
California, Oregon, some areas of New York, Arizona, Arkansas are just a few of the areas I’ve read about returning to elective procedures. Florida at the request of the Florida Medical and Hospital associations are eyeing May 9.

roy has been so wrong about so many thngs for so long, I'm not sure I would believe him if he said water was wet.

When you cant debate the facts or the data make ad hominem attacks

right ?

its not my opinion its the ER Doctors who have tested 5000 patients and the USC, Stanford and Miami studies that all support what they are saying.

Did you show me in the Miami article where they claimed .14 per cent fatality rate. Hoping you see this cause I am anxious to see the result
