Former President Donald Trump and his vice president, Mike Pence, will be among the speakers addressing an Iowa Christian conservative group’s event later this month.

Trump announced Wednesday that he will speak via video to the Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition’s annual spring fundraiser on April 22 at the Horizon Events Center in Clive. While the other speakers will appear at the event, Trump will deliver his remarks remotely, his campaign said.

Previously confirmed speakers at the event, which the group announced earlier this week, include Pence, Tim Scott, Asa Hutchinson, Vivek Ramaswamy, Perry Johnson, Will Hurd, Larry Elder and Tulsi Gabbard.

DeSantis returning to Iowa

Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., is set to appear as the featured guest at Republican U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra's third annual Family Picnic on May 13 at the Dean Family Classic Car Museum in Sioux Center, the Sioux City Journal reported.

The trip would be DeSantis' second to Iowa since the start of 2023 and his first to Siouxland. Feenstra, a 4th Congressional District representative in his second term, made the event announcement on Twitter on Wednesday.

Though DeSantis, a two-term incumbent, hasn’t officially declared as a candidate for the 2024 presidential election, polling averages from firms such as Morning Consult show him having the second-best support among GOP primary voters after former President Donald Trump.

Off subject a bit, but can private citizens still buy semi auto weapons in Iowa?

Sorry, this post should be on Louisville killer thread.

They are Christians in Name Only. They have given evangelism a bad name.

It certainly indicates to me a lack of principles.

Ultimately the problem is too many people want to adjust their religious faith and their principles to fit their politics. And this is a sad problem that happens both with right wing and left wing Christians.

Donald Trump has already proved that he is not a Christian.

Last year a reporter asked Trump if he had ever asked God
to forgive him. Trump replied, "No, because I have never
done anything wrong."
