Congrats Clones on denying Prime a trip to Dallas.

I’d rather see Prime playing for a shot at the playoffs than Iowa State. I’ll be there in my black and gold, cheering for Arizona State.
I'd be fine with BYU making it but Prime is too much of an asshat to support. Him missing a return to the home of the Cowboys is classic.

I'll never forget when Sanders and Bradshaw were co-commentators and they got into an argument started by Dion disrespecting Terry. Dion and his mouth were gone before the next Sunday.

I agree he is an ass. But it is in Iowa’s best interest (recruiting/daily conversations with obnoxious clone fans) for them not to be in the playoffs. I was rooting hard for Kansas State last night.

Not sure about that ..... ISU seems to be doing ok putting less effort into in state recruiting and letting Iowa have them.

As long as Iowa has an antiquated coach at the end of his career.....they will struggle recruiting beyond the locals who remember the past longer than anyone else....and that isn't on ISU.

What are you even talking about? Iowa has an All-American running back from Cincinnati and his top two backups are from Florida. They have an All-American linebacker from Indianapolis and his partner is a transfer from Virginia who is originally from Georgia.

They have quarterbacks from five different states - Michigan, Nevada, California, New Jersey, and Florida. They have tight ends from Ohio and Kansas and Missouri and Wisconsin.

They have cornerbacks from Michigan and California. They have multiple starters at various positions from the Chicago area. Their kicker is from South Carolina and their punter is from Australia.

Oh good, another thread for people to hate on Colorado.

But it does provide another opportunity to reflect on all of the commentators and fans who loved to let everyone know that Deion’s approach would fail at CU. So that’s nice.

A different iteration and viewpoint for a Prime thread would be to remark how 9-3, maybe 2 Heisman finalists, and tied for the conference lead is pretty impressive in year 2. But hate away!

Dion is an asshole. If we want to hate on them that is our business.

Many here hate on the Big 12 as being a weak conference. Dion did tie for 1st but in the tie breaker Colorado actually finished 4th. Of the 4 teams tied for 1st Colorado did also have the worst overall record 9-3.

Simple question....how many potential Heisman finalist were on the other 3 teams that tied for 1st in this weak conference?

Has Prime done a lot in his couple years? Not necessarily. His name value is his largest asset and as expected it did attract quality recruits.....but what has he done with that talent?

Are you saying the Buffs had better records and bigger crowds in the several years leading up to Sanders becoming the coach? When did they last challenge for a conference title? It looked like a full house in Boulder this weekend. He is recruiting strong as well.
Sure, he can be abrasive and turn people off, but there is a long list of coaches who resemble that remark.

All over college football we have players fighting, coaches refusing handshakes, coaches griping at each other, players stomping on midfield…but, sure, Deion is the problem.

Interesting, so now 9-3 after inheriting 1-11 (at a University that barely supported and hardly cared about football) is a negative thing because he "hasn't done anything with his talent" (well except, ya know, help a player probably win the Heisman and tie at the top of the conference). Haters gonna hate indeed.

Fvck Prime. I'd rather see the Clones making it to the Big 12 title game at Jerry's house than Colorado.
The whole premise of this post is alien to me. As a Hawkeye you are pulling for your hated rival?
As a lifelong Seminole fan, I could never pull for the gators or caines. When they play each other, which BTW the gates avoid at all costs, we hope that the stadium burns down with both inside.

I mean OP in his second post appears to still be mad about some comments to Terry Bradshaw. Holding on kinda tight to the Deion hate. Bradshaw, on the other hand, seems ok.

Every time the question is posed at least half of Iowa fans say they root for ISU when they aren't playing Iowa. Because "wE'rE aLl iOWanS" or some crap. It's some bizarre Iowa Nice thing.
Maybe because ISU has not been a real rival on the football field, y’all do the pull for them thingy?
We have a long history of the deck being stacked monetarily and otherwise regarding uF. The Florida legislature had to force the gates to play FSU. They blocked us from joining the SEC in the 60’s. It burns them that we won a Natty before them. Go to hell gators.
Sorry to go Off Topic.

I think it more stems from Iowa having a very large portion of the fanbase that didn't actually go to Iowa. Seems weird on its face, but without a professional team and limited T.V., it's who we grew up watching in western Iowa.

I imagine I'd be more passionate in my hatred of ISU if I actually attended Iowa, but I have siblings who went to ISU, so I tend to root for them if they're not playing Iowa.

That said, I do laugh my ass off when they fall flat on their face, and I love getting my Cyclone fans/friends all riled up... it's just so easy to do.

I certainly don’t speak for everyone, but ISU has never been more than the 9th most important game on Iowa’s schedule because I grew up during a period when the ultimate goal was to win the Big Ten and go to the Rose Bowl. So every conference game was more important than ISU.

I also grew up during a period when Iowa beat ISU 15 times in a row and it was usually a blowout, so the game always felt like it was just something that needed to be checked off the to-do list, like laundry or mowing the lawn.

It has actually been a fairly even series over the past 26 years. ISU thumped Iowa in Hayden’s final season to break the losing streak and I think Ferentz is 14-11 against the Clones. But it still isn’t as important to me as any one Big Ten game. And I don’t really root for or against them when they’re not playing Iowa.

Or a diverse higher education.

Can't recall EVER being called Iowa nice.
