I wonder what her angle was... Incident account from his FB page:

"Tonight has been eventful to say the least.... I went to get a bite to eat off-base at a local pizza spot. As my friend is standing talking to her family; who currently owns this pizza spot, a woman walks in and is constantly staring back at me. As I am in uniform, I politely smile back.... The woman proceeds to walk in and out multiple times over the course of 10 minutes. Her food is ready, and she walks back in to retrieve her pizza... As she leaves, she looks at me and says "Nice Smile" very sarcastically. I reply "Thank You, have a nice day ma'am" and continue about my day. Not even 30 seconds later she comes marching back in, and yells at the Pizzeria staff "He is a fake by the way, my husband is in the Army...." you can probably assume the rest. I proceed to attempt to prove that I am not a fake, even pulled out my VALID Military ID and showed it to her. She kept claiming that my Military ID is fake, and proceeds to show me her DEPENDENT MILITARY ID, and screams "This is what your ID should look like". As I realized there was no persuading this woman that I am not a fake, I politely say "Tell your husband thank you for his service for me, and have a nice day". She storms out of the pizzeria, and storms right back in, progressively screaming at me "You disgust me, you son of a bitch", grabbing my uniform and throwing my cover on the ground, not aware that I am a real service member. In a last ditch effort to leave, she rushes towards me and slaps me in the left side of my face. Being in uniform, I must maintain professionalism, so I stand there and proceed to wish her a nice day.... Well, looks like some of our own people can't recognize authenticity when they see it."

Holy crap.

FWIW the dependent ID card is a totally different format than the current active Duty "CAC" card. My retired ID looks like the dependent ID. The old active duty ID cards looked like the current retired and dependent cards but I think that changed around 15 years ago.

None the less....inexcusable by her her.

It seems like the dependas get more pressed than actual service members about things and take too much credit for their service members service, as if they are the ones that actually served.

And if she slapped him she should be arrested for assault. And her husband should divorce her and she should be entitled to none of his military benefits.

Internet sleuths look like they’ve identified her based on the comments. She deleted her FB profile but she’s still out on other sites (LinkedIn, etc.).

Which one of you was posting in the comments section of Eyewitness News 3 -- Damn life without parole , with no trial, that is harsh

Well Educated Liberal Sep 15, 2021 7:20am

She needs to be locked up. No questions asked, no trial needed. The evidence is clear. If the person she assaulted is African American or any minority, it needs to be considered a hate crime. Life without parole. End of discussion.

She was still fired up after the school board meeting about masks causing staph infections.

People have also been critical of me.

I don't understand people. What would truly make someone think they were in the right for doing this? Are people truly this stupid (dumb question, yes they are)?

You know faking being in the service is also a pretty shitty thing too. But that said I don't someone who is going to go to the trouble of getting a fake uniform is going to use it just to wear to a pizza joint.

And honestly if you call someone out for faking their military service you better be damn sure you are right about that.

Is this an example of stolen valor?

I would say most likely so. I'm not an expert but a couple of clues.

One I don't think any marine has that big of a bar of ribbons. He has like a dozen rows there.

Another clue is the gold pin at the very bottom of all of that excess is a Navy seal pin. Very very few actual Navy seals out there. So someone running around claiming to have been a seal kind of sets alarm bells off.

Also the rank insignia is that of an E-9 which is the highest enlisted rank. Again not a ton of people reach that rank. So it's another thing that sets off alarm bells.

And I'm not sure but don't you get transferred into the Navy if you join the Seals.

She seemed half drunk to me, I certainly hope she wasn't driving. It amazes me how some people interact with complete strangers these days. I'm desperately looking for those days gone by where we all treated each other with a sense of respect, it's sorely lacking these days I'm afraid.
She seemed to be slurring her words. A drunken rant is hard to recognize versus a standard GOP rant these days, however.

You can transfer services after you become a SEAL and keep your trident. I knew a retired Coast Guard officer who did it, but it’s exceedingly rare.

This guy is just ridiculous. He has more ribbons than Audie Murphy. Also, just look at him.

Exactly . . .

I think it helps if you are in the military because you can spot uniform issues a lot easier than civilians.

But for civilians I would say the easiest thing is your alarm bells should go off in proportion to how decorated and "awesome" they are claiming to be.

Not many people have a congressional medal of honor. . . even less that are still alive. To earn one you have to do something so ridiculously brave and exceptional that your very survival is a miracle. Obviously a few do live. Most MOH's go to the dead.

You can actually look a list of all MOH winners on Wikipedia.

Not many navy seals out there.

Not many E-9's out there.

Should go without saying that the vast majority of military members are people who just went and did their job. Most get a few ribbons for qualifications or operations their unit participated in, but to earn a huge slate like that you would need to be in the military a long time. Probably longer than a human lifespan.

His ribbons are out of order. The Trident should be above the other badges. There’s a whole lot going on there.

I wouldn’t confront the guy, but I’d certainly laugh loud enough that he could hear.

Thanks for the very detailed reply.

Don Shipley, a retired Navy Seal, has an entertaining YouTube channel where he exposes all sorts of yahoo’s who claim to be Seals and are benefiting from those lies. He’s damn entertaining. Former Buds131 is his account name there.

I won’t watch most YouTube “stolen valor” videos as the perpetrators by and large are mentally ill people and the confrontations get too mean and nasty for my tastes. Sometimes it’s best to just chuckle and move on.

My first thought was I would have had her arrested for assault. I'm OK with the barrages of verbal insults but the second you put your hands on me, you're done. Be thankful I didn't knock you on your ass.

Given that it's a woman it would probably not go well for you if you responded physically.

Joe Mixon retaliated against a woman who attacked him and it didn't go well for him.
