And here's a different angle of the play.

Thank god, though, he never plays offense. That’s a level of sexiness that would be incomprehensible.
all the people who say he waved it off and called fair catch and the gophers just backed off, will say this is proof
Why does it always seem to be "worst officiated game of all time" or "worst call of all time" always take a win away from Iowa? It's maddening.
I don’t buy Cooper was trying to “keep his balance”. He put those officials in that position to make the call, hell the offense put the team in that position to lose that game.
Cooper looked and sounded pretty emotional in a short interview clip I saw on BTN. Just deflated as in, "I put the team in my back, left everything on the field, and busted my ass to make a play against all odds to win the game only to have it stolen by some crooked suits."
I'm sure part of it was a culmination of frustration that's been building throughout the season due to the historic and pathetic ineptness of our offense. He's thinking, "What more can I do?"
I don't blame him one bit. I'd feel the same way in that moment.

Those are hash marks at a low angle. Is it me or from this angle, Cooper steps out of bounds with several of his steps on the white area??
But if you see it from other angles, he does not step out of bounds. I see 4 steps clearly out of bounds with this video, or has it been doctored???
Ahhhh...thank you! Those are hash marks at a low angle.
its sad that we need him for defense, special teams AND offense.Thank god, though, he never plays offense. That’s a level of sexiness that would be incomprehensible.
There better be 2/3 of the punt returns called back next week because the returner moved his arms while moving to catch the ball. Since evidently that's how we are now calling it.Please review what follows and let me know if I got this straight.
* The on field officials said they were reviewing if he stepped out of bounds and that was all they were reviewing.
* See info below. The replay folks are not allowed to start a review of a possible invalid fair catch signal.
* So, based on the 2 points above, this should have been an Iowa TD.
That has to be AI, right?
I agree it’s sad, but it’s nonetheless true that Iowa lacks play makers.its sad that we need him for defense, special teams AND offense.
None of the refs called it yesterday either. Was all done after the fact. This is an interesting tidbit.
Technically the right call but they never call it? If so, why now?

These two things can also be true:

It really makes you wonder about Kaleb Brown. He’s not talented enough to see the field among the guys Iowa currently has? I’m genuinely asking.
These two things can also be true:
1. It was the right call
2. It was unfortunate the way it played out because CD was definitely not wanting to make a fair catch signal
Scrimmage kicks that cross the LOS are reviewable. The replay official couldn't assess a penalty, he just declared the ball dead were DeJean touched it.but who called for the review? the replay official, correct? and if so, I don't think they can do that based on this:

At first glance, I thought the exact same thing.Ahhhh...thank you!
For ****s sake, no one is claiming it was a fair catch signal. No one is saying he was attempting to fair catch it. Why is this so hard for Iowa fans to understand?? It was an invalid fair catch by waving his left arm which stops the play dead once he touches it. My god people are dumb.
So you are arguing that the officials shouldn't have called the play correctly (as they did) because of a technicality? Thats fine, you may be right.3 things regarding if it were the right call:
(1) the on field officials were only reviewing if he went out of bounds, nothing else
(2) replay officials can't ask for a review based on what follows
(3) so if no on field official is asking for the review and the replay officials can't ask for one, there's nobody left to ask for a review and the touchdown should have stood, imo.
It's all spelled out here:

What “the offense” did prior was NO factor in a piss poor decision by a referee……in Pittsburgh. You look at other angels of replay and his left hand/arm appears to be “steadying” him as #3 had apparently made a decision to field and play the ball before it was ruled “dead” or went out of bounds…..You watch the two refs who were nearest the play (behind #3 and on the sideline) and they make NO move to stop or halt the return……You watch PJ Fleck (standing maybe 5 ft. Away fron the play) and you see nothing but shock and disappear on his facew…..You don't see any Gophers backing of the play, either…..I don’t buy Cooper was trying to “keep his balance”. He put those officials in that position to make the call, hell the offense put the team in that position to lose that game.
