*Developments in SWARM19 Recruiting*

Anybody else happen to notice...Alex Padilla looks pretty small. 6'2"?...I don't think so. If Jacobs on his right (our left) is 6' 3"....Padilla is probably under 6 feet.

That aside, this is shaping up to be a great class. Goodson would be the cherry on top and Bell (a longshot no doubt) would make it outstanding.
Padilla measured 6-0.5 and the Nike Opening Regional in Dallas. I think Iowa measured him in at 6-1, 191 lbs on the visit. He made the mistake of standing next to Ezra Miller, who makes everyone look small.

I took into account that he's next to a mountain. But even next to Jacobs, he looks pretty small. Must be the camera angle or how he's standing.

Almost makes a guy want to streak down the road like Frank the Tank , what a weekend.

So what ... we're staring down a confirmed commit of Hunt ... a likely commit of Britt ... and a more recent commit of Belton. Definitely an excellent haul for the weekend! Furthermore, most folks speculate that we're around 2 weeks away from a commit from Goodson.

Also, that would rise the number of commits to 14 ... and that's for a class that could still potentially be fairly small. Of course, it could swell to get bigger ... but a lot of that will depend on attrition. Regardless, what a great class so far!

Some buzz out there that there may be some more attrition yet. Class could end up around 20 again as it so often seems to.

Who else is thinking about leaving?
Nothing substantiated or from "insiders" but saw some speculation about Simon and Schulte. I think they were referring to the TE Schulte given the depth we have there. Simon is kinda buried too depth wise. Again just some people speculating.

What's he gonna do in Jan '19 when he's standing between Stanley & Petras  ~ No worries; Trace McSorley seems to have solved the "height" problem; I'm totally confident Alex will, too.

Right. See there was this dude named Tate that did ok when he was at Iowa. Not your prototypical size, but he was a savvy gamer.

The TE Schulte is not on 'ship. Thus, that sort of attrition doesn't lead to an increase in the size of a recruiting class. However, I could see Vejvoda ultimately transferring out. Also, before long, I could see us losing personnel at CB and LB depending on how the competitions are shaking out.

I hope Simon sticks around. He could be an asset in 2019 and especially in 2020, where DE depth looks like it'll be a big question mark.
I sincerely hope that Simon sticks around too. Furthermore, I hope he continues to embrace the grind and continue to improve ... that way he can make a big impact when he earns his opportunity.

IMO this weekend isn't overly important.
The reason I say that is with Iowa's schedule they should have a fine season. So picking up recruits who lose their coach (thru firing) or are soured on their teams performance seems like a good game plan.
Since Iowa doesn't have a lot of spots to fill we are in a good position to poach some prepstars as the season rolls along. I think Iowa will look more desirable to recruits in December than they do in June.
And of course IWCC and the occasional graduate transfer will always be there to present Iowa with some positive unexpected options.

God bless my reverse psychology, it pays off again!

Seriously though, this class is on a path that should see it finish very strong.

Man the OL haul in this class is solid , Goodson will have some very big friends to open up the holes for Him . very solid class so far and could be in for a great finish . Now if Britt can get Bell to commit ..

Great photo from Jestin Jacobs' mom.

Belton looks everybit of a future speedy LB to me
we have LB'rs so I say let him be either the next Thorpe winner as either a SS or CB.

I like what Parker is doing with the DB's and what Wallace is doing with the LB'rs, LB'rs in this class
6'4 Jacobs out of Ohio
6'4 Campbell out of Iowa

going back to the Greenway size LB'rs
