*Developments in SWARM19 Recruiting*

Well, who's next? Fill your projected remaining scholarships.

I say Wright, Fox, Bell, Myers, Eichenberg, Azubuike, but I know nussing.
I'd be in favor of taking Jacardia if we weren't going to land Goodson, I dont think Eichenberg is considering Iowa very much right now and Kobe Myers has been radio silent for months. Who knows tho things can change.

Goodson is my guess as to is next
Bell wants to see how the WR's are used before declaring
Wright can play WR, RB or DB is planning to announce after his season is done
Eichenberg or Hinrich would be my guess [247 shows them both warm to Iowa]
then its the best fit for the rest.

Goodson, I think we go a few days before the next commit. Fox kinda pumped the brakes on Blair and saying he almost committed.

Also, I heard a rumor (not going to elaborate on source) and don’t know if it’s 100 percent true but it makes sense.. Brock is doing some shady shit and that’s why both Iowa and ND backed off. I’m not going to go in detail because I don’t know if it’s true. It just makes me feel a hell of a lot better on why we just completely dismissed a 4 Star like that.

Once Goodson commits it seems like the main remaining targets are:

David Bell WR
Nick Henrich ILB
Tommy Eichebnerg ILB
Tomari Fox DE
Malcolm Lee DE
And I think probably another TE but now sure who they are still targeting. Maybe Hickman and Stephens?

And I am sure there are a couple of targets that emerge based on their senior season.

Don't forget Wright or Baker
Wright can play WR, RB or DB.
Baker was last tisted at 6'2 233 lbs can play RB or LB.

both would fit in with this class.

as for a TE prospect watch out for DE/TE Miaman out of Illinois,

and DT Jackson out of Texas is still interested in Iowa. there are a lot of possibilities out there, its just a matter of who commits.

Assuming there are 5 spots left... I'll guess the following to round out the class:

Goodson
Fox
Lee
Baker
Wright

Could also see Iowa taking Azubuike as an LB, if Baker goes elsewhere.

Predicting Henrich and Hickman go to Nebraska, Bell to Purdue.

Canyon Bauer (WR/ATH) out of Sioux Falls O'Gorman, was recently interviewed by the Argus Leader and he indicated that he would be announcing some time in July. I believe Reece Morgan is the lead recruiter.

Bauer holds preferred walk-on offers from Iowa and Minnesota along with full rides to all the ND & SD schools. He reminds me a lot of former Hawkeye Riley McCarron - track sprinter slot receiver who runs crisp routes and rarely drops a pass. The last gray shirt offer to a WR in the Sioux Falls metro area was Matt VandeBerg and he finished top 10 all-time receptions at Iowa.

I think WVU just got a crystal ball for Goodson. We're gonna look pretty ****in stupid if we don't land him. Especially since we didn't make Hall's top 8.
No, there are 3 CB's for Goodson. The first was for WV and was made back in April by the WV 247 guy. The last 2 have been for Iowa, including Steve Wiltfong, the Director of Recruiting for 247.

Eichenberg is all but committed to BC at this point. Getting numerous crystal balls for BC.

This is the response I got from the ND board.

ND didn’t cool really. Here is what went down:

ND wanted a RB early. Kyren Williams informed everybody he would be visiting Missouri, ND, then Michigan, then afterwards would make his decision in July, but not officially announce until the fall.
ND then offered Brock the week he said he was announcing his decision. Brock was choosing Minnesota. ND told him to hold off & visit. Brock then canceled a visit toIowa & was going to visit ND that weekend instead (this past weekend) before the dead period started.
This all gave Kyren Williams a change of heart & he cancelled his Michigan visit & committed to ND. That then allowed ND to inform Brock yet were good, to continue his decision-making process without ND. Brock then visited ISU instead this past weekend before he made his final decision. And it sounds as if he is going to choose Minnesota like he originally was.

I hope this is what happened

not sure if Iowa will take 2 more DL in this years class. I think the staff may take a DL and call it full,

as for 247 crystal balls they wouldn't give Iowa credit unless the kid was about to commit and even then it is like pulling teeth with a pair of plyers and no pain killers.

You do know they get graded on being correct, not who they predict too, and the earlier they make the prediction the more points they get. Crystal balls, specifically Wiltfongs, are the only reason to.pay for a 247 sub.

Kansas hired an assistant coach will strong Louisiana/ New Orleans relationships. They got a couple good players out of New Orleans last year as well.

Iowa fans shouldn't care. According to this board 4 star = same as 2 star.

Kansas need to make good use of the couple years that those players down south will remember that coach otherwise they'll be back to the beginning of being ol fashioned Kansas in the recruiting world

I don't care if they hired his next door neighbor...Kansas is still Kansas. Piss away your college opportunity because one of the assistants has a familiar accent?

Um, yeah. Actually a 4 star committed to KU probably does equal a 2 star committed to Iowa. Considering our proven track record of development versus theirs, I'm not too fvcking worried about who Kansas is recruiting.

It shows that good recruiters matter....a lot. As in they can get really good talent to places like Kansas. Which is why I don't buy the Iowa excuse of it being impossible to get good recruits to Iowa. Iowa puts a ton of people into the NFL yet gets out recruited by Connecticut some years. Kelvin Bell has done a good job. Don't you remember our poor recruiting under the last regime?

You should apply for the Iowa recruiter job. You'd fit right in. It does matter because if we can get that 4 star athlete there could be a higher ceiling they could reach at Iowa.

This victim role Iowa fans has played has always baffled me. "We get 2 stars guys and are proud of it!"

I would be a hell of a recruiter, thank you.

Also, the point of my post went right over your head, but that's not surprising.

I understand your post. And I understand 4-5 star guys are more likely to have immediate impact on a team like Iowa. Wirfs and AJE for example.

The next time we get a high level 4 star I expect you to protest it on here saying you wish they got the smaller project/developmental player from a small town.

If your goal is to get me to say that I'm perfectly fine with average recruiting ranking I'm not going to do it.

We offered 15 defensive ends this year, only 3 were considered "4 stars." It is hard to get any high level recruits when you don't offer any.

During the Rivals era, we have never finished lower than Connecticut in the recruiting rankings. Anything else you'd like to make up?
