So that actually happened? WVU tried to hire him a year ago, but McCollum said no thanks? If so, maybe he was holding out for the Iowa job, knowing that Fran wouldn't be around a whole lot longer.

WVU cannot pay him more than Iowa. They may have better NIL, but we far outpace WVU in total revenue which gives us more resources to offer salary.

Yeah I get the feeling Iowa is gonna have to pony up for BM. You want quality, you've gotta pay for it, but worth every penny IMO.
