DeVries NOT a candidate for Iowa job. Ben McCollum the next Iowa HC?

Mac strikes me as the kind of guy where a lot of the normal job decision logic doesn't apply. So happens to work in our favor.

I'm not worried about WVU. Why would be suddenly accept this year after declining last year?

So that actually happened? WVU tried to hire him a year ago, but McCollum said no thanks? If so, maybe he was holding out for the Iowa job, knowing that Fran wouldn't be around a whole lot longer. ;)

Pryce actually was a decent defender and can drive the lane. He would be a key player to return. Actually in McCollum's offense you didn't see the bigs floating around outside, solid rebounders who block out. When a shot went up, everybody pounded the boards.

Drake is one of the top rebounding teams in the country. It is impressive to watch.

I would guess DII teams competing for National Titles are comprised of a fair amount of DI players who were overlooked.
Here's one that was overlooked for BM. So good he has an award named after him.

About Trevor Hudgins
The award is named in honor of Northwest Missouri State's Trevor Hudgins, who had a historic career with the Bearcats. He led the Bearcats to three consecutive NCAA Division II National Championships. During his career, Hudgins started in every game and never missed one. He also never lost an NCAA Tournament game, leading the Bearcats to a remarkable 17-0 record in the NCAA Division II National Tournament. Hudgins was named the NCAA Division II Player of the Year in back-to-back seasons in 2021 and 2022. He holds both the NWMSU scoring and assists records and finished his career with 2,829 points, which ranks first all time in the 110 year history of the MIAA.

I think he’s gonna get 4 from Iowa regardless. Which if he really is interest in coaching here will be almost impossible to pass up. Especially if there’s any semblance of a plan to boost NIL for men’s bball.l
Yeah I get the feeling Iowa is gonna have to pony up for BM. You want quality, you've gotta pay for it, but worth every penny IMO.
